"Dean, get up. We have a plane to catch," I said as I slipped on my shirt. I had already showered, but we still had about 4 hours before our plane took off. I wanted to be sure, I guess.
"Mrph," Dean mumbled as he rolled over and fell off his bed.
"MERRY CHRISTMAS," he shouted once he hit the floor. "Ouch."
"Are you okay?" I kneeled down next to him and kissed him.
"I am now."
I playfully nudged him and helped him stand up. Dean had only his boxers on. Oh God. No, not now.
There's a time and a place, I thought. Dean walked over to his dresser where he left a pair of jeans and a black t-shirt and another plaid shirt to go over it to wear today. He didn't bother showering because he did so last night while I packed some of his stuff.
After he put on all of his layers, he walked over to the closet and grabbed his old combat boots. I just watched him the whole time.
"Okay, I'm ready," he said with a grin.
"You need to eat, mister." I already ate some toast with peanut butter earlier, so I didn't find it necessary to eat again.
Dean made a toasted peanut butter and banana sandwich. After he finished, he strolled back into his room and grabbed both of our bags. I spent the night here last night because I thought it'd be easier to wake up together.
"Alrighty, you ready?"
"I am," I deadpanned, "but you're not. Go brush your teeth."
"Ugh, fine, mother."
I laughed at his response and set the bags by the door. When Dean emerged from the tiny bathroom, he didn't hesitate picking me up along with the bags. He ran to the elevators, but gave up and dropped me when we got there, panting.
"I don't know why I thought I could do that," Dean said before taking a sharp breath.
I pressed the button to inform the elevator that we were waiting. I kind of bounced on the balls of my feet, excited to see Anna and Gabe. Finally, the elevator creaked open, letting out three girls. One winked at Dean and the look he gave me after was absolutely priceless. It was a mix of terrified, embarrassed, and "nope."
We got off the elevator and walked out to the front, waiting for the taxi that I called in for.
"The taxi," I breathed, "is late."
"Relax, baby. It's not like we're gonna be late," he said before kissing my cheek. I flushed red and kissed him back.
The taxi arrived, taking Dean and me to the airport. When we got there, Dean and I didn't talk much, probably because we were so excited.
We went through the baggage check, the carry-on check. The everything check. Metal detectors, blah blah.
Somehow, all that checking led to a stop at the gate where our plane would be taking off in just about an hour or so.
Dean ungracefully sat down and patted the seat next to his. I took the seat and set my hand in his.
"I'm so glad you're coming home with me," I said. Dean squeezed my hand and kissed the corner of my mouth.
"Are you really? Most people just want to be with their families for a bit, you know?"
"Yeah, not me," I started. "I don't want to be away from you for a week."
"Nor do I," Dean replied. "I love you."
"I know."
We eventually picked up our backpacks and went to go get some food. I bought an unwanted dry cheese sandwich, but it was about the only thing that was edible in this airport.
A few minutes after I finished my sandwich, a lady called out that our plane would start boarding.
As soon as we got on the plane, I realized that I was exhausted. Dean and ended up sharing earbuds and listening to my favorite band, Portugal. The Man while I drifted into a deep sleep. As I was about to switch off my brain from rational thinking to fantasy world, I thought I heard someone get close to my ear and whisper, "Where have you been?"
Okay, so I hope y'all like it! What do you think will happen when Dean gets to Cas' house?... *suspense music* Nah, just kidding. It will probably just be a bunch of fluff.
Anyway, this chapter reminded me of when I was in an airport with my grade to go to Washington DC. I had gotten my boarding pass checked and whatnot. But there were two lines of people getting theirs checked too, so I had to crossover one line which involved a lot of maneuvering around people. Everybody thought I was trying to get to the carry-on check without getting my pass checked, so multiple people yelled at me and I had to get a pat-down. It took a lot of explaining.
That same day, when I was going into a museum, the metal detector went off which resulted in another needed (but unwanted) pat-down. It was just my belt.
