Wilson walked alongside Webber, who had insisted on holding the High God's hand. When he tried to refuse, Aracnie growled at him, and he changed his mind, making Webber much happier. Wes had made an exaggerated laughing motion while WX-78 tried to keep it together. At least it was just Webber and not Wendy or Abigail. Those brats would pull a prank on him or something evil.
They were walking towards the Dark Palace, where meetings were held and where the Queen lived. Wilson and Webber walked in front while WX-78 and Wes walked about three yards behind them. But Wilson was sure that if his dreams were correct, Charlie wouldn't be in the palace.
He didn't share the dreams with his comrades. He felt it would set him apart, as none of them shared any strange night terrors or such. Webber would most certainly have told them, as he was very childlike in nature, and Wilson admits that the spider boy was pretty honest.
Of course, honesty got you nowhere these days. It would make you seem more special than the others, and make you prouder. The pride was bad. That would be Maxwell's downfall.
Maxwell was more powerful now. It made his pride swell so that he wanted to 'impress' Charlie. What did he even do? How could he possibly use a book of shadow spells to impress the queen that loves light?
In a lot of ways actually.
Of course, it wasn't really bad that Maxwell wanted to impress Charlie. The way he did so was the problem. There are extreme issues with his head, so maybe Wilson shouldn't be so surprised. After all, they did all think that Maxwell was their downfall. Maybe this is how he was doing so.
...
They soon arrived at the Palace, it's brooding black walls towering more menacingly than usual. Which was odd, since they weren't that tall.
Webber clung tighter to Wilson, Aracnie shivering beside the boy. Wilson let himself shudder internally, as not to alarm the lower level Gods with him. Wes was standing, shaking in exaggerated fear, while WX-78 merely looked up at the shadowy castle.
Slowly, they walked into the foreboding arch and started the oddly long walk to the queen's corridor.
