"Here's your food." Lily's doctor, Rowan, said. Setting the tray on the desk next to the door, they left. Standing up, she went to retrieve it, sighing at the sight of it. It was the same thing like every other time: a small piece of steak, some mushy mashed potatoes, and corn. Picking through it, she only ate a couple pieces of the steak before setting the tray on the desk against the wall next to her bed. Picking up the ball again, she tossed it around a bit, bored out of her mind.

"You hardly touched your food." Natemare said, sitting on the desk."No wonder your practically skin-and-bones."

"I'm tired of your insults, Natemare." She said. "Just stop trying..."

"You're welcome for the distraction, by the way.." He said, looking right at her, but she avoided eye contact. "Believe me, now?"

Lily stopped, ball in hand, gripping it tightly. "We're not talking about that.."

"So, you do." He pried, standing up, his arms crossed. "You should've believed me at first..but you chose not to. Now you found out the hard way.."

"Shut up.." She said through gritted teeth.

"Awe. Cute." He stood uncomfortably close to her. "If you're so angry...why not give in?"

She knew exactly what he was talking about, but she shook her head. "I'm not doing that anymore..."
Before the conversation continued, she heard a soft knock on the door. Snapping her out of her anger, she saw the familiar face of Seán.

"Oh look. It's your boyfriend." Natemare sassed.

"Oh for crying out loud, it's not like that!" Lily snapped. "Just go away..."
Hearing him laugh, he vanished as she walked up to her door.

"Seán?" She asked after opening it. "What're you doing out of your room?"

"I heard some yelling.." He said, concern in his voice. "I was wondering if you were okay."

Lily casually lifted a shoulder. "Nothing I can't handle..I'm fine."

He gave a small nod. "You too? You got a voice in your head?"

She sighed. "Unfortunately...that's why I'm here..."

"Me too..." He said, immediately stopping himself. "I said too much already."
She raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"

"I said enough already!" He suddenly yelled, and quickly ran back to his room.

"Okay..weird." She said, shutting her door. Suddenly thinking of something, she let out a heavy breath. "Nateamare...Natemare?"

"What?" She heard him ask, appearing by the bed. "I thought you hated calling for me." He added with a grin. "Seems like you're warming up to me."

"Okay, first, gross...and second...how much of that conversation did you hear just now?"

"Enough to know that you're not the only one with a voice in your head." He said. "Why?"

Lily folded her arms. "Do you know of anything about that? He acted weird after he said 'I said too much'."

Natemare shook his head. "Not to my knowledge...pretty sure every crazy person here has a voice in their head."

"Tonight.." Lily began, making him raise an eyebrow. "Once everybody is asleep, we'll sneak out of my room, and see if we know who he's dealing with so we can help him."

"You do know there's night guards on every floor, right?" Natemare pointed out. "They're gonna catch you either way."

"They leave at exactly midnight. I watched." She said, seeing him giving her a weird look. "I had nothing to do.." She added defensively. "Anyway...when they leave, we'll see if we can get anything on this person in his head.."

"Sounds dumb yet good to me." He said. "I'll be here at midnight."

Walking past her, his arm brushed hers, and she froze, looking at where it touched. Looking to where he went, he was already gone. Placing her hand on her arm, she didn't feel threatened by it at all.

Sitting down on the bed, she thought about how this plan of hers was going to work.

Sean sat down on his bed, slowly rocking back and forth. That voice in his head was driving him nuts, always popping up whenever they want at the worst possible time. They were back, Sean trying to block them out, but it was no use.

"Just leave me be!! I don't want anything to do with you!!" He said loudly, clawing his hands into his hair.

The voice giggled. "Ṕ̢oo̶̡r͢ ͟͡l͡įtt̀́l̛e҉ ͘͝͞b̡̛͘o̧͠͞y.̀҉ ̢̛͘D̸͞o̕ǹ'̀͜t ̛̕͞t͘h̷̸i͝n̶͏k̀͞ ͘y̴ò͡u͝'͠l̛̀l̷̨ ͜͞g̛ȩt̀ ̷̀r̷id̸ ̸͘͟o̶f̧ ̀͡mȩ."

"SHUT UP!!!!" He yelled, punching the wall.

"Admit it.." They said, glitching into appearance. "You liked when you killed that b̴͘͞ò̵ý̨҉." Sean jumped back when he saw them, breathing heavily. "You liked it when you beat him to death." They took a step closer. "The feeling of his bones cracking underneath ỳ̢o̕͢͝u͢r͟ ̀͘͘f̴̡i͏͞s̨t͟͏s͟...his blood sp̸̡l̵͠a̷̕t̸te̸r̢i̢̢n͟͜g҉̸́ ̛͠all̛͜ ̨o̕͠v͢͠è̕r͘..the look in his eyes as he slowly faded away." Leaning in, his face was inches from Sean, a scary smile on his face. "I know you l̢i̛ķ̛ę͢d͢͡҉ ̵̛i̸t̡."

Sean felt himself calming down, dropping his shoulders. He looked at them in the eyes, seeing they were black. "I did?"

Their smile grew wider. "I wouldn't lie about it."

A knife formed in their hand, showing it to Sean. "I know you'll let me in. One way or another."

Laughing, they glitched out of sight.
