Fourteen

"I know what you're thinking.." Lily began, taking a couple shallow breaths. "I know that what happened back there wasn't the best...but if you wanna get out of here..that's the only place that'll be safest."

"I don't want to be reminded of what happened!" Sean said.

"I know you don't.." Her face twisted with pain for a couple seconds. "But it'll continue to bug you if you let it.."

"I can't fucking help it.." Sean said seriously. "I killed him in that damn house...that's when he came into my head.."

"I'm aware of that." She said. "Sometimes you gotta do things you don't really like doing..I know that I wanna get the hell out of here..I'm sick of them treating us like dogs.."

"I am too..." He sighed. "I don't know, though..."

"Sean, we'll be there the whole time." Lily said.

He suddenly had a different look on his face, one of curiosity. "Do you really love him?"

She looked baffled. "What?"

"Natemare."

Lily took a deep, shaky breath, biting her lip. She knew what happened..her and Natemare did what they did in her room..but while she was knocked out..she also kissed Sean, but it was brief. It shouldn't mean anything, right?

"I don't know.." She said. "I can't think about that right now..."

Standing up, he saw Natemare come back inside.

"We'll leave tonight." He said, approaching the bed. "Once the guards call it a night, we'll get Lily, and we'll get out of here." Kneeling down, he gripped Lily's hand. "Right now, you just rest."

"I was going to, don't worry." She said, letting him kiss her on the cheek.

Sean looked right at the two of them. "That answers my question.." Was all he mumbled before quickly walking out.

Lily woke up to the sound of the door opening, seeing Natemare's dark figure approach her.

"It's time." He said. "You ready?"

She gave a small nod. "Yeah..I don't know if I can walk though.."
He smirked as he unhooked her from the machines. "Don't worry about that."
When she sat up, he scooped her up into his arms, catching her by surprise.

"See? Like I said..don't worry about walking." He said.
"Wait..." She began, glancing around, only seeing the rows upon rows of beds. "Where's Sean?"
He started going towards the door. "I don't know...maybe he won't join us."

"He has to!" Lily exclaimed.

"It's his choice, Lily." Natemare said. "If he doesn't want to...so be it."
He was about to open the door when someone else did, revealing Sean on the other side.

"Huh..look who decided to join the party." He said.
"I wanted to stay.." Sean said. "But...after thinking about it for a while...I realized you were right...this place is a shit hole..and I wanna get out."
Lily lightly smiled at him. "Let's go then."

"Grab on." Natemare said, catching Sean off guard.

"What?"

"Just do it, you pansy." He said.
Rolling his eyes, Sean gripped his shoulder before they were suddenly transported outside, the fresh air slapping them in the face. The moon cast a dim, white glow along the field, lighting up the building, making it look like something out of a scary movie.

"What the??" Sean said. "What the fuck just happened??"
"I got us out." Natemare said with a prideful smirk. "I told you it would be easy."

"The guards will be looking for us." Lily said, laying her head on Natemare's chest, getting sleepy again. "We have to hurry."

"I got it." Was all Natemare said before they were zapped outside the house.
Sean looked at it wearily, the memories coming back. From hanging out with Mark...to them being more than friends..to the moment he figured out Mark was a murderer...to when he killed him with his own bare hands.

"I know it's hard on you." Lily said, lifting her eyes to Sean. "But we get to start a new life now. Away from that place."
He gave a small nod, biting his lip. "Yeah..."

Opening up the door, he let her and Natemare inside first.
"Welcome to our new home sweet home." He said, gently laying Lily down on the couch. "Get comfortable."

They got settled in, Sean trying to push past the painful memories from before. In a way, he's happy he's out of that asylum, to try again in life. That's what Mark would want him to do. It's what he would want Lily to do too.
