~Skye's P.O.V~

I'm sitting in the back seat of the car, Eleanor and Louis are discussing something in front of me but I'm concentrating on the puppy, I'm not listening to them.

"Where the hell do we keep it?" I hear my mum say, and my head shoots up.

"He can stay in my room."

She turns and looks at me, then nods. "And will you walk him? Feed him? Train him? Clean up after him?"

"Of course, I'll do everything!" I promise her. My phone beeps and I look down, and smile. Cody.

"Hey, can I ask you something?x"

"Yeah?x"

"You're sure?" My mum asks, I smile at her and nod as we pull into the driveway.

"What are you going to call him?"

"Ace?"

"Yeah, okay." She replies.

My phone beeps again and I instantly smile, knowing it's Cody who has text me.

"Do you wanna see a movie with me?x"

"I'd love to x"

"Really? Okay so, Friday? I'll meet you at your house at about 6?x"

"See you then! :) x" I can't stop smiling now, just knowing he actually wants to be with me makes me happy.

We get home, and Eleanor and Louis leave me there while they go to get my stuff from my old home, I'm glad to be out of it. Glad to be with my birth parents, just glad to be happy again, I think. They get home quite quickly, and Eleanor sits me down to discuss something with me, in my room.

"Skye?" She asks.

"Yeah?" I answer.

"Are you okay? You've never done any of those bruises to yourself? They're all him, right?" She questions.

"Yeah, they're all him. I don't selfharm or anything.." I reply. "Why are you talking about this with me? Do you think I selfharm?"

"No, no. It's not that." She says, tugging down at her sleeve. "I just don't want you to ever go through that much pain that you actually hurt yourself to make it better." She explains.

"Why are you tugging your sleeve?" I ask.

"No reason." She states.

"Mum? Let me see." I say, reaching for her sleeve and pulling it up, my jaw drops as I see all the bright coloured scars that are covering her arms. "You actually used to..." I trail off.

"Yes. I did." She tells me.

"Why are you telling me all this now?" I ask.

"I just, I don't want you going through the pain that I did. You should never have to hurt yourself to make yourself feel better, because it really makes nothing better at all. I don't regret doing it of course, I haven't ruined my body, I'm just a tiger; I earned my stripes." She implies. I hug her and she smiles. "I just want you to be okay."

"I am now, I'm home, and he can't hurt me again, everything is working out." I tell her.

"And how about that boy from school today? Cody? Is everything working out with him too?" She smirks, giggling a little.

"Yes actually.." I laugh. She smiles at me and asks me what happened, and I tell her that we have a date this Friday, and he's meeting me here at six.

"He seems like a sweet boy, really cares about you too." She smiles. "Well, at least you're happy! That's all I want for you, happiness." She says, hugging me again then standing up. "What do you want for lunch?"

"Nothing, I'm not really hungry yet." I smile.

"Alright." She smiles back, leaving the room.

I sit and play with Ace, training him, cleaning up after him when he pees, that sort of thing. By five o'clock I have trained him to sit, stay, and lay down, and I'm pretty damn proud of that.

"Skye!" I hear. I go to my door and stand outside it.

"Yeah?" I shout down the stairs.

"Do you want some lasagne?" She asks. I run down stairs and stop in front of her.

"Hell yes!" I reply, rushing into the kitchen. She laughs as she follows me in.

"Well at least now I know your favourite food." She says, handing me a plate of lasagne.

"This and chocolate, yeah!" I smile, going to the table and eating it.

"Are you okay?" Louis asks as I sit down. "I mean, with him and all..." He adds on.

"Yeah, I'm fine. He's out of my life, dad. I don't need to worry about him anymore." I explain, starting to eat my lasagne.

"Good. As long as everything is alright, that's good." He replies. I smile at him, and he smiles back, then Eleanor sits down too. We all eat, mostly in silence, then I finish and go back upstairs to Ace.

I play with him for a little while longer, then I eventually get tired and go to sleep.

Friday comes quickly, and no sooner I'm getting ready for Cody to appear at my front door. I'm just finishing off my mascara, when the doorbell rings. I run downstairs faster than I ever have, phone and purse in hand. I open the door and Cody is standing in the doorway, smiling at me. "Ready?" He asks.

"Yeah." I reply. "Don't wait up!" I shout, about to close the door.

"Be safe!" Eleanor shouts back just as it closes.

We go to the cinema and go to see Guardians of the Galaxy, I wanted to see it mainly because Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper are in it, and because it looks good, of course.

Once we leave the cinema, we sit in a field and talk.

"But the tree killed himself for them to live!" I say.

"No, he came back to life!" Cody argues back, laughing,

"No, the second tree is a girl!" I laugh back.

"Okay, okay! Whatever you say!" He laughs, rolling over and looking at me. "You look amazing tonight." He smiles at me.

"Did I look horrible yesterday?" I smirk.

"No, no! You always look amazing. Just tonight, there's something more exquisit about you." He smiles. "Maybe it's just the way the moonlight is reflecting off of your eyes." He explains. He starts to move closer to me, and then he kissed me. It was magic, the way his lips connected with mine. It was right, and somehow, among all of the dizziness and the clinging to him like a life line, something inside me changed, never to be reversed. This new feeling could be dwelled upon later, because, for now, I was content to feel his breath come and go with mine.
