I jump up and down to the beat of the loud music, looking over to my short blonde haired friend bumping along with me. Usually on a Tuesday night id be tucked away in my bedroom studying or practicing my music but Janelle always seemed to get me to do bad things. Not that being at a panic at the disco concert is a bad thing, but i'm not the type of girl to party on school nights. To you this may not seem like partying but it's the only partying I do.

"They aren't half bad." My best friend screams over the music.

I nod my head in agreement as the opening act walks off the stage. It's nearly nine and the only place I want to be is tucked safely in my bed.

"Lighten up Haley."

She nudges me with her elbow causing me to tumble into the person next to me. I turn around to apologize only to be met with a broad chest. After what seems like looking up forever my eyes land on a pair of soft blue ones.

"I'm so sorry." I say in a panicked voice.

He lets out a small chuckle paired with a half smile.

"Don't sweat it."

His Australian accent is far deeper than my own, or at least it seems to me. I don't realize how long i'm standing in front of him without speaking until Janelle is waving her hand in front of my face.

"Sorry for my odd friend, i'm Janelle and this is Haley."

I nod my head and dart my eyes anywhere but into his own. They intimidate me for whatever reason and I want to be anywhere but in the situation I currently stand in.

"I'm Luke, I just moved here from Melbourne."

Janelle takes his hand shaking it firmly, she's always been the flirt with strangers type. He then reaches out for me and I awkwardly shake his hand. The band takes the stage and I divert my attention. The music for pray for the wicked starts and I get ready to sing along.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Their finally playing the last song and I can't suppress my yawns any longer. My feet are killing me more than anything in my life and some how my best friend is still full of energy and life. We've always been complete polar opposites but anyone could tell you we've been a dynamic duo since birth. Our families lived side by side together and ironically we were born on the same day. When my dad's band grew big and my mom grew sick she spent nearly every minute by my side.
"It was nice meeting you two." The tall blonde pipes up.
"You as well Luke." Janelle says with a bat of her eyelash. "Like she said." I say with a half smile before diverting my gaze to the dirt ground.
After a brief moment of conversation between the two of them I pull Janelle by the wrist out of the venue.
"What's the rush?"
"Look, I love you but i'm absolutely exhausted and my feet are killing me. It's late and tomorrow's an important day."
I look down at the ground hating to ruin her fun.
"Let's go." she says with a smile.
I press the button on my keys hoping to find my car faster in the dark. I've nearly been hit four times by others trying to rush out and beat traffic. I don't blame them, usually I would have been in been for hours by now. I climb in waiting for her to join me before turning on the car and waiting for my turn to pull out. My head is slightly throbbing and my eyes and fairly droopy.
"Do you need me to drive?"
I shake my head not wanting to give her the burden. I back out and into line and slowly but surely get out completely. I listen to soft music with my window open to keep me awake as I drive. Janelle passed out next to me with soft short snores escaping her lips every so often. I giggle shaking my head as I pull into my driveway. I shake her shoulder semi roughly until she springs awake yawning. We climb out lazily and I lock the car before giving her a small wave.
