Chapter 1

It was a new dawn of a new day,the first day of the month of May. Jasmine woke up and used her hand to shield her eyes from the sunlight greeting her through the curtains of her window.

She said some prayers before she stood up and walk out of her room. She was on her white and touch of pink pyjamas heading to her dad's room.

Getting to her dad's room,she knocked but got no response before walking in. She saw that her dad was still sound asleep. Glancing at the wall clock in his room,she saw that it was already past 9am. She wondered if he wasn't going to work today.

Walking close to his bedside, she sat on it. "Dad, dad",she called but Williams didn't answer. She placed her hand on his foot and tapped it. Williams jerked up at the feel of the touch. He tossed to the other side of his bed and his leg rested on her laps. He shivered and opened his eyes to see who it was.

"Sweetie, what are you doing here? Isn't too early for you to be awake?". He asked in grogginess.

"Good morning, dad. I came here to ask if you're not going to your office today?". She replied.

"Of course I'm going. Its still early." He replied given a tired yawn and stretching his arms.

"Early? For what I know, you always leave home by 8.45am but today its already past 9am and you're still on...." Jasmine trailed off on seeing his dad jump out of bed.

"Its past 9am,I can't believe this. How did I sleep so long?". He asked glancing at the wall clock before rushing to his bathroom.

Jasmine rolled her eyes. "C'mon,dad. What's with the rush? Is not a big deal you slept up till this time. You're the CEO of your company,so you can go there anytime you want. I made a mistake waking you up,please come back to bed." She said.

"No..I can't come back to bed. You know how important it is for me to be at the office." He replied before he started brushing his teeth.

"But dad,your GM is there to take care of things." She continued.

Williams paused from brushing his teeth and spat the liquid of toothpaste he was having in his mouth before responding."I. Know. Sweetie. But without me I don't think things would be in place like I want it to be. And most of all I need to show a good example of punctuality." He replied and continued brushing.

"Dad,things will definitely be in place as far as you have a manager there to take care of things. And forget about punctuality you've already...."

"Sweetie, just stop pushing it. I'm going to work. Or perhaps if you had accepted on being the MD I would have had a relaxed mind because I know you'll be handling the company well. But since you refused to join in the company after graduating from school even before graduating you already said no, what else should I do than to keep working." He said cutting her off.

Jasmine became mute knowing her dad just hit the nail to the head. She sighed and stood up. "Fine. You're free to work work work. But don't kill yourself yet with it because I've got only you in my life. I'll go see if Rosa has made breakfast yet." She said flashing him a smile.

"You know I've got only you too. Thanks for understanding and I'll make sure not to stress myself. Let me have my bath now." He replied smiling at her before she walked out of the room.
