Remembering or Suffering?

Rapunzel sighed and turned her attention back to the little chamelion...

It was smiling at her which she found so adorable and cute...she smiled back...

"You know what?...I'll just name you...Pascal..." she said.

The little animal smiled and squeeked in agreement...Rapunzel giggled at this...

Suddenly she heard...an icy sound..

She turned to her mirror and saw frost creeping up...she took a step back in confusion...

"Frost?" she mumbled.

The little chamelion went on her shoulder and curled up turning itself in the shade of pink...to blend with the color of her dress...

When the frost stopped she took one step closer to examine it...to make sure she's not imagining or going crazy...

She looked at the little animal who was also looking at her...

"Should I touch it?" she asked...the little animal nodded and looked at the mirror a few inches away from them.

Rapunzel faced the mirror once again and bit her lower lip...she slowly touched the frost with her finger tips and she knew right then that it was real...

"It's real...but...why would there be frost on my mirror?...It's spring." she said talking to Pascal.

Pascal just shrugged...

Her eyebrows knitted closer as she tried to think about a logical reason...

Suddenly a word appeared or...was written on it...

Hello

She gasped as something triggered to her...

A memory...but it wasn't clear...but she's sure that this happened before...

She thought hard....trying her very best to remember but...her head throbbed in pain...Like something's stabbing it...

She shrieked in pain as she held her head slightly pulling her hair..

"Ow!...It...Hurts!"

Pascal squeeked and squeeked obviously worried about his newly found friend.

Jack on the other hand saw the situation and immediately went out of his hiding place and ran towards her...

"Punzie!...Are you o-" he was about to hold her shoulder to try to calm her down but...his hand passed right through her...like he's just a ghost...

Rapunzel kept on screaming while Jack tried a lot of times to touch her...atleast to comfort her and let her know he's there...but...his hand passed through her in each attempt.

Pascal however...saw him...the little creature watched him try...and he was as confused and worried as he was..

After a few moments...Rapunzel's screams died down and her eyes fluttered close as she slowly fall to the floor.

Jack immediately grabbed the nearby pillow and placed it on the floor to catch her head.

Pascal stared at the unconscious Rapunzel and looked at Jack with a really concerened look.

Jack sighed and knelt down beside Rapunzel...

"So...This is it...My work here is done...You can't see me anymore...you can't hear me anymore...and...you don't know me anymore..." he said as he blinked away the tears that was threatening to fall.

He tried to caress her face but failed once again...this made him sigh deeper...

It's all over...

He stood up and looked at Pascal and smiled weakly at him..

"Take care of her...Look after her...for me." he said.

Pascal nodded and it made Jack smile...

"You know...for a chamelion...you're smart..." he said...

He looked at her one last time and went out her window...

This is it...he's letting her go...for real...he will never come back...ever...

"Goodbye Punz...I love you..." he whispered and flew away.
