Chapter 4
I changed quickly before Nate and Des drug me and Rachel out the door. Blake wasn’t one for high energy parties full of drug addicts. He was more than happy to stay home. Over all, it wasn’t that much fun because Damon wasn’t there. It was a decent night but I was beat by the time we got back. I flopped onto the bed and didn’t feel like changing so I fell asleep in my dress.
The next morning I was woken up by someone shaking me gently. I opened my eyes to see Damon kneeling beside me. I just groaned and rolled over and Damon laughed at me. The next thing I knew, someone jumped on me and I screamed… Loudly.
“CYR! GET OFF ME!” I shouted and pushed him off my bed.
“We had to get you up!” he said. “We made breakfast.” That got me up. Damon laughed at me so I hit him lightly. I sat at the table with everyone else and grabbed some pancakes.
“Someone was too tired to change,” Nathan taunted.
“Yes,” Was all I said.
“So, showing you my town starts with Universal Studios!” Damon announced. My eyes went wide with excited.
“Really?!” I cried. He nodded and I hugged him. “I’ve always wanted to go there.”
“Perfect, we’re all going but we’ll probably split up at some point,” Damon told me and I ran to change, but I totally took the pancakes with me.
A half hour later I was ready to go in shorts and a light shirt. I was no stranger to amusement parks, I loved rollercoasters. I was hyper the whole drive there in the front seat of Damon’s car. We sang together to NeverShoutNever even though Chris lost all the respect he had during the Bryan Stars interview.
“Calm down Jess!” Damon said and put a hand on my thigh.
“Hell no,” I said and saw that Cyr had been filming the whole time. Damon noticed too and pulled out his phone.
“Hi phone, so we’re on our way to Universal,” He started and I went back to bouncing in my seat. We got there soon after and I drug everyone to the ticket booth thing. Before I knew it, we were waiting in line for the Hulk coaster.
“Jess, you should know something about Dee here,” Cyr started. “This man right here, he’s scared of heights.”
“No way,” I said and turned to Damon. He was glaring at Cyr and I knew it was true. I took Damon’s hand and laughed.
“It won’t be so bad, I’ll be right beside you,” I told him. It was still early enough that we made it on pretty quickly and Damon was freaking out.
“I’m gonna DIE!” He said as we started going up.
“You’ll be fine Dee,” I said and put a hand on his arm. He grabbed my hand and screamed like a little girl. I laughed so hard and once we got off, Damon was fine again.
“Oh my god,” He said once we were in line for another coaster. “That was freaking scary!”
“I love roller coasters so you better get over it Dee,” I said. The rest of the morning was great as we drug Damon on all the rides we could before lunch. The seven of us sat around a picnic table with our food and laughed. I was squished between Damon and Blake who were both purposefully leaning into me. I also noticed Rachel and Destery were whispering and laughing. I knew she had a HUGE thing for him before we came here, it was nice to see that they might actually get together.
“Come on, let’s go do some more rides,” Damon said and pulled me up with him, making me fall backwards and into his arms.
“Nice catch,” Cyr said and I just stuck my tongue out at him before we left. Damon and I did the Hulk again and a ton more rides. Before I knew it, it was getting late and Rachel texted me.
“They’re leaving,” I told him and wrapped my arms around myself. It had started getting cold and Damon noticed. He gave me his sweater just as some fans came up to talk to him. After he took pictures with them and signed some stuff, he went back to me and wrapped his arms around me.
“Sorry my sweaters aren’t very thick,” He said with a smirk and we started walking.
“It’s fine,” I said with a big smile and put my own arms around him.
“Did you have fun today?” He asked me quietly, knowing people were staring.
“That’s the most fun I’ve had in a long time,” I replied and felt Damon squeeze me in his arms.
“Good, I’m not the only one,” He laughed as we started back to the car. It was freaking cold out! Why Florida why?! Damon and I were pretty dead tired.
“Ugh, do you just want to crash at my place tonight? I’m too tired to drive,” He sighed as he put the keys in the ignition. “You can have my bed and I’ll sleep on the couch if you want.”
“Sure, I’m not too confident in your driving skills right now anyways,” I said and grinned as he glared at me.
Eventually we did make it back and Cyr was passed out in the spare room. Damon lent me some clothes and I changed before he showed me his room. It was a little messy, but I’ve definitely seen worse. Now comes the awkward part.
“Well, Night,” Damon just said awkwardly. All I could do was laugh and hug him.
“You’re precious, night Damon,” I said before crawling into bed. He laughed too and left to the couch.
The next morning I woke up and heard someone outside. I was a little confused since I wasn’t in my room at Destery’s. Then I remembered I’m an idiot and I stayed over at Damon’s because we were too tired to get lost on the way to Nathan and Destery’s.
“Dude, dude, why are you on the couch?” I heard Cyr ask.
“What?” Damon asked.
“Why. Are. You. On. The couch?” Cyr repeated.
“Oh, cuz I let Jess sleep in my bed so we didn’t get in a car crash and die,” Damon told him and Cyr gasped before running in.
“Get out!” I groaned and hid under the blanket. Cyr died laughing and literally fell to the floor. Damon was filming it from the other side of the door frame.
“Bro, what is wrong with you?” Damon asked as Cyr tried to crawl out of the room. Just then my phone rang and I anticipated the MOST awkward conversation of my life.
