Niall didn't understand what was going on, his brother tried to explain but he just didn't get it.
One minute, his mommy and daddy were hitting him and tearing up his pictures apart while he was sobbing and the next he was being taken away to somewhere he'd never seen before.
Quite frankly, Niall's never actually seen many places but there were so many new people and someone kept taking him to some strange room. It was all getting very scary for the boy.
He clung to his blanket and pressed his thumb into his mouth, fighting back the tears that were threating to fall.
His body was still aching from what his mommy and daddy had done even though the doctors had bandaged him up and he was really hungry.
He couldn't remember the last time he'd been fed, accustomed to picking through the garbage for scraps.
No one had offered anything to him and he wasn't about to ask.
He pressed himself into the wall when a woman came up to him.
"Hello sweetie," the woman crouched down to his level, never touching him and keeping a soft smile on her face.
Niall couldn't stop himself from flinching even though he thought that the woman looked nice.
"I'm Brooke, I'm a social worker. I take kids from bad parents and I find them a new home to live in with people who care about them." Brooke explained to the boy.
Brooke was so worried when he first saw Niall but she knew she had to do something.
"Papa, what are we doing here?" Louis said walking with his dad.
Zayn ignored his 16-year-old son and walked over to the counter.
"Hi were looking to adopt a child," Zayn said to the woman.
"Well of course! What are you looking for?" the woman said.
"Probably a boy my husband and I want another boy," Zayn said to the woman.
"I think I have the perfect little one for you." The woman said.
"Brooke will you bring Niall in here please." the woman said.
Brooke goes looking for Niall and sees him with his blanket on his bed that probably is uncomfortable for him.
"Niall, sweetie can you come with me, please," Brooke says to Niall.
"S-sure," Niall says stuttering.
Brooke and Niall go over to the woman at the desk and a tall man.
"Here he is Angie," Brooke says.
"Thank you, Brooke, Hi Niall," Angie says to Niall.
"H-Hi," Niall says.
"This is Zayn and he's looking to adopt someone," Angie says
"Hi Niall, I'm Zayn," Zayn says to Niall.
Niall doesn't say anything he just hides behind Angie.
"Don't be shy Niall he's a nice person," Angie says.
"He-hello," Niall says to Zayn.
Zayn looks at Niall and sees that he has a black eye.
