My Sweet Escape // Lashton

Chapter One

A/N: I'm gonna switch between Luke and Ashton's POV throughout the chapters so be prepared

Luke's POV:

It was just a normal day at school with Calum and Michael. But something felt different. Yeah we had a new kid in one of our classes, but that shouldn't change what the day felt like..should it?

We were sitting at lunch together, Michael, Calum and I, when we saw him. He had messy light brown curly hair. Whenever he took a step his curls flopped in his face. I couldn't stop staring at him. Why? I don't know.

"Luke!" I heard Michael say.

I shook myself out of my trance and looked at Michael. "What?"

"You were staring at him. The new kid."

"No I wasn't!" I knew it was true. I was staring at him. I couldn't look away.

"Whatever you say Lukey."

I rolled my eyes. I hated the nickname he gave me. I guess just 'Lukey' is better than 'Lukey Pukey.' My eyes searched around the room trying to find the new boy again. I finally found him and stood up. "I'll be right back." I walked over to the new boy. He flinched when I said hello.

"I'm Luke." I sat across from him and smiled briefly.

"Ashton." He muttered. I noticed he didn't have anything to eat, so I offered to buy him something.

"No it's okay, I had a big breakfast." he said. He wouldn't look me in the eye. He stared at the table or at his hands. Anywhere but me.

I sat with him in silence for the rest of lunch period. Afterwards we walked to science class together. Ashton sat in the way back. Michael sat with me, as usual. And Calum sat with his girlfriend, Sam.

Mr. Sampson passed out our work and I looked back at Ashton. He was staring at me. I turned back around and blushed.

"I think the new kid has a crush on you." Michael said quietly. I just nodded. I didn't dare tell him I had some sort of feeling for Ashton, too. I couldn't place if it was a crush or if it was something else.
