Ashton's POV:

I awoke to find Luke nowhere in my room.

"LUKE?" I called.

No answer.

I got up, changed my pants into some shorts and went to the bathroom. I found the door locked.

I knocked loudly. A groan answered.

"Luke? Is that you in there?"

The door clicked and opened.

"Luke? are you okay...?" his eyes were glossy, face droopy from lack of sleep.

"No." he puked up what we had had for dinner the previous night. "I've been up for three hours just puking." he said quietly, spitting into the toilet.

I sat down next to shirtless Luke in front of the toilet and rubbed his back.

"Maybe it was something you ate?"

"Doubt it. I don't feel good at all. My head is spinning and my stomachs doing knotty butterflies." He held his head in his hands and sat there shivering slightly.

"Did you take anything?"

"Yeah. I took cold medicine and pain killers. The pain killers worked but the cold meds didn't."

I thought if anything had bitten him at the fireworks. I couldn't remember him scratching or complaining about anything.

"Hmmm...I don't know, babe." I rubbed circles on his back while he puked up more.

"I hate puking so much." he said quietly.

I sighed and kept rubbing his back until he stopped shaking.

I helped him up. I walked him halfway down the hall and he collapsed.

Uh oh.

He lost consciousness and stopped breathing. I called 911 from the nearest phone, which happened to be his in his pocket.

"Hello, 911 what's your emergency?"

"Hello. My uhm...boyfriend just passed out. Get here as quickly as you can he's not breathing." I gave her the address. In three minutes, they were running through the house to us.

In five, they had him on the stretcher in the ambulance. I stayed by his side the whole way there, grasping his hand with both of mine.

"You're gonna be okay, Lukey. It's gonna be okay. Babe, you're gonna be okay." I whispered to his unconscious body.

What if this was another suicide attempt and I didn't get up soon enough to stop it?
