The ground is breaking,
just like you and I..
Words mean nothing in today's society,
yet actions are always a surprise.
Always worried about a Tweet,
but never concerned about whose being bullied.
Worried He will walk the Earth again?
Punish you for all of your sins?
I don't think He'd waste His time
when your prayers were sent under a fake disguise.
The ground is breaking,
so is our minds.
Look at what's on the television,
do you see what I see?
Corrupted images splattered across every one of our screens.
Lord, help me, cause I don't want to see -
what happens to the world when there is no meaning.
A child can die and nobody blinks an eye,
yet a celebrity rips their jeans and all you can hear is people scream.
What is happening to me?
Yesterday I didn't even blink an eye when the news said
another person died.
Shootings are daily.
Terrorist attacks are world wide.
We deprive the poor and idolize the rich.
Young people are expected to be wise,
when no examples are set,
Power plays a huge role in peoples lives,
it doesn't even matter if you have your rights,
Power will always replace what is on the inside.
I hope to say what is on every one else's mind,
even if stones are thrown it'll only add to my poems.
Maybe someday we won't feel like this is the end,
but until then we have to keep sending our messages.
The truth outweighs their lies,
We shouldn't live always wondering when we might die.
We live in a corrupted world,
always full of lies.
Try to be the bright light,
even when the world tries to dim your shine.
