"What is this place?" You asked Benedict after you both were seated at a table next to a window in the busy restaurant.
"My favourite restaurant. I use to come here when i was little." He answered. You couldn't help the smile that grew on your face as you watched Benedict look around the place with glee. You turned your attention to the menu and felt a little disappointed seeing that there was only two vegetarian choices: Veggie burger and chips or stuffed peppers and sweetcorn. You ordered the Veggie Burger and Diet Coke whilst Benedict went for Ham, egg and chips with a lemonade.
"So why do you like Nightmare so much" You asked Benedict as the waiter walked away. He just shook his head and shrugged his shoulders. Not giving in so easily, you asked again. When he looked at you, you clearly saw how hard he was trying to hide his inner fan boy from you. Asking again, Benedict finally gave up and told you, getting a little lost in his words.
"I don't know. It's just that Nightmare is so different! You're-well she is- the top assassin in Hydra, so you know it's going to be interesting. Then there is Nightmare herself. I mean, her name is Nightmare! A fully trained assassin who's special talent is knives. She's basically the Black Widow for Hydra but way more bad, awesome and hot-" Benedict stopped himself and looked shocked and terrified at what he just said. Blushing, he took a sip from his lemonade that just arrived and started to babble again about how sorry he was and how he didn't mean to say that.
"Oh my gosh stop!" You said giggling. "It's fine. I run around stabbing people in a tight catsuit it's not like i'm not aware some men are into that!" You tried to make it sound as if what he just said didn't bother you but, on the inside, you were screaming with so many emotions. Happiness, guilt, sadness, embarrassment and so many more. Benedict swiftly changed the subject to reading.
"I use to read all the time. Don't get much opportunity now though, sadly. Work just takes over my life! When i do get time off i tend to read Shakespeare-"
"Oh my god!" You cut him off.
"I know. Not many people appreciate him any more." He said, thanking the waiter as they gave you your food.
"No! Not you! HIM!" You said, pointing out the window to the cafe opposite. There the both of you saw the one and only Tom Hiddleston drinking a coffee with a very happy looking attractive woman sitting very close to him. Luckily, they couldn't see you as the windows were tinted. Benedict looked at you sadly.
"I don't believe it. Yesterday we broke up and he's already seeing some skank!" You started to play with a napkin on the table. "No one moves on that quickly. Maybe he was seeing her when we were still together! That's probably why he said he didn't love me! He was cheating on me the whole time." You felt the anger boil in you as you watched Tom and the curvy black haired, beautiful woman talk and laugh together. Benedict stopped you playing with your napkin and held you hands over the table. When you didn't look at him but continued to look at the pair outside, he let go of one of your hands, and snapped his fingers to get your attention. It worked and you looked away from the two and focused on Benedict.
"Don't say things like that (YN). This is Tom. He's not a cheater. Besides, you don't even know if they're on a date. We're at dinner together but this isn't a date." You sighed as you realize what Benedict said was true. Tom wouldn't cheat on you, right?
The two of finished the rest of the meal talking about yourselves and getting to know each other. Before you knew it, the both of you had finished your dinner, ordered and finished desert, and were now in the car heading for the set of Nightmare. The entire hour drive Benedict was talking about how excited he was and how he can repay you for letting him go with you. You didn't mind his constant talking as it drifted your mind away from Tom.
"Here we are." You said, pulling into the parking lot of the studio. Benedict gasped as he realized that he was only a five minute walk away from being on the set of his favourite program.
You both walked in silence, Benedict too shocked and excited to speak. As you entered the studio you were dragged to the side by your director, David. He guided you into the hair and make-up room, mumbling about stuff you didn't understand, and pretty much pushed you onto the make-up chair. You looked around for Benedict but he was gone, probably walking around, open mouthed, looking at the set.
"Heya sweetie." Said your hair and make-up artist Marigold. You greeted her back as she ran her fingers through your long (H/C) hair. The two of you chatted lightly as she began to style your hair in the usual messy bun Nightmare had, but when she moved onto the make-up you wished you were any where but there.
"So your sister, Erin, phoned David about an hour ago." She said, putting foundation on you. "Erin kept talking to him about letting you have a week off, at least."
"Why?" You asked, already knowing the answer.
"Because you and Tom broke up, silly." There it was. So everyone knew. "I'm sorry to hear it dearie i really am. He was a lovely man. I always pictured the two of you growing old together, having children, getting married. I know you were only together two years but you were still the couple i would have bet on lasting forever. Good thing i didn't." You sighed and closed your eyes. You loved Marigold, she was one of your best friends, but god, did she not know when to shut up?
Marigold finished your natural looking make-up and sent you into costume. There you replaced your skinny jeans and doctor who T-shirt with the familiar skin-tight cat suit with the hydra sign on the arms and back. You walked out and were greeted by all your four co-workers; Heaven, Zac, Dylan and Ricky. They all looked up and smiled at you sadly. Brilliant, they knew too. Heaven, a tall, skinny, play-boy-worthy-looking, blonde walked up to you and gave you a hug, giving you a speech about how there are more fish in the sea.
Wanting to leave as quick as possible, you mentioned how you had left your rucksack in the car and it had your phone in it. You jogged out to your car, making sure you got out before anyone else saw you and gave you a 'i'm so sorry' look.
You opened your car door and collapsed in the drivers seat. You looked around the car for your bag and spotted it on the backseat. upon picking it up, you saw two small brown parcels underneath it.
'The parcels Tom gave me! Benedict must have moved them.' you thought. You knew you had to get back to work quickly, but curiosity got the better of you and you picked them up. You really wished you didn't as you opened the two packages.
The top one contained a picture of you and Tom on top of a Ferris wheel in America. It was night so the background was black was gold specks of light. Tom was taking the picture, and was pointing the camera so you both fitted in the screen as well as the background. You both had enormous grins on your face.
The second parcel made tears swell up in your eyes. It was a sheet of paper with the lyrics 'there is a lady sweet and kind' and had a phone number on the bottom. Tom never had the courage to ask you out, so instead gave you this exact paper. Under the poem and above the number it said:
"Sorry this is really cheesy. I cant talk to you up close without going all shy and happy. I was wondering if you would join me for dinner tomorrow? Text me :) xxxx"
You wiped away a few tears that broke free and placed the two objects carefully in your bag. Stepping out of the car, you swung your bag over your shoulder and began walking back to the studio. Maybe he did still care.
I didnt have time to read this one through before i post it since i'm in a rush. Sorry if there is any major mistakes and stuff. What you guys think?
