Ding Dong!
Yulia peered suspiciously out the window. To her surprise, it wasn't another classmate as she suspected, but a very old woman.
She opened the door and came face to face with the woman, who held a crinkled hand out. "Dearie, would you get me a glass of water? I've been selling wares all day along this corridor and my throat is parched." The old woman croaked.
Yulia was creeped out. Firstly, this was a student hostel, tucked far away from the main road. Secondly, she was living on the top floor. Why would an old woman come right up to the top floor of the hostel just to sell something?
Still, she could not turn away this old woman without satisfying her needs. "Um...I'll be right back." She ran to the kitchen, filled up a glass of water.
When she got back to the living room, she realized that the old woman had invited herself in. "Here you go." She dumped the glass of water into the stranger's hands.
The old women seemed to have forgotten about the drink, setting the glass on the nearby table. She started to fish around in the basket she had, and suddenly drew out something. "Here's an apple for you, my dear! The reddest, rosiest apple off the tree in my yard. Take it, my girl!" The old woman's eyes sparkled.
Yulia stretched forward to receive the apple, and suddenly, the strumming of a guitar sounded.
Yulia whipped around, and there was Nathan, leaning against the wall in her flat, playing his guitar.
"How did you get here? And what are you doing here?" She gasped.
"Well, the door is wide open." Nathan gestured at the door. "And I was walking past with my guitar when I happened to look in, and I saw a re-enacted scene from Snow White!" Nathan continued to strum his guitar softly. "I couldn't stop myself, I love Disney movies, so I hopped in and made this scene complete with music." He looked very pleased with himself, and began to wave away his imaginary fans as if they were applauding his decision. "Thank you, thank you!"
"Get out!" Yulia said firmly, pointing at the door.
"Hey, that's not part of the script!" Nathan looked hurt. "You're supposed to ignore me and go on acting. Ok, come on." He put down his guitar and produced a clapboard out of nowhere. "Scene 3, Take 2. Action!"
Yulia rolled her eyes at Nathan's childish antics.
"Don't you want the apple?" The old woman ignored Nathan.
"Um...I don't want to buy anything at the moment......"Yulia squirmed. "And I don't particularly need anything right now..." She was trying to find a way to politely chase the old woman along with Nathan out of her flat.
Unbeknownst to Yulia, some major action was taking place behind her.

Over Yulia's shoulder, Nathan watched as Mao fumbled to open Yulia's window. After a few tries, she managed to pry the window open. She swung lightly into the room, landing without a sound. Afterward, she proceeded to methodically search the room, checking in high and low places, hunting furiously. The old woman had also spotted Mao, and a knowing glance between both females was shared.
They're definitely up to something, Nathan deduced. Deciding to add to the ambiance, he ditched the Snow White soundtrack and started to play Mission Impossible enthusiastically. (Personally, it was one of his favourites. It wasn't easy to play.)

"What about a pillow!" The old woman flourished a pillow with surprising agility.
"You know what? There's a boy that lives on the first floor that would dearly love a pillow. Why don't you go down there to sell your wares!" Yulia was getting tired of this small talk.
