There are things I need to take care of.
Telling Blair that we should stay out of each other's way is not enough. My parents need to know what happened and why Blair won't be in the bridal line up and why she won't be invited to my wedding or any other family gathering after this.
Simon accompanied me to the door. I'm with two bodyguards, no more evading.
"Bea!" My mother beamed when she opened the door. The last time she saw me I wasn't showing. "Oh dear me! The tabloids aren't wrong. You are indeed pregnant. Could you not wait until after-"
"Mother, move."
She invited us in. "Why the entourage? No one is a threat in here." She laughed.
This woman clearly does not know what I have been through. "Is father home?"
"Yes."
"Call him down. Blair too. We should have a family meeting." I took a seat.
"Why so formal dear? Is it about the wedding? This is not the time to think you should stay single! It will be scandalous-"
"Mother! Get daddy and your other daughter! It's important!'
She hurried to do so.
This house feels smaller than I remember. The Bellingerre Manor is way too large for comparison.
"Bea! How lovely to see you!" My father was quick to embrace me. "I see you are about ready to take on motherhood."
"I'm not sure if I'm ready but I don't think the baby is giving me options. How have you been?"
"Well enough dear." His attention shifted to Simon and the two bodyguards. "Is everything all right?"
"No. We need to talk about Blair."
The devil in question looks irritated to see me. You save someone's life and she still behaves like an ill-mannered child.
We took our seats. "What is going on?" He asked me.
"Blair shot and killed Lawrence." I got to the point.
My mother's face has never looked paler. My father slowly turned to stare at her. "Is this true?"
"I won't admit anything unless these strangers leave the room." She demanded.
"Theses strangers have signed NDAs. They can't talk about anything they hear. Most importantly, I don't trust you enough to be without their protection." Tony and I agreed that from now on until I have the baby I should always choose flight over fight. He says I should accept the role of damsel in distress.
"Yes." She answered.
"Why are you not... the police! This is scandalous! Oh my nerves! Husband, my nerves!" My father massaged her hand. Blair and I maintained a stare off.
"Why would you do such a thing?"
"Because she's dying of jealousy! She and Lawrence abducted me! Lawrence wanted to let me go but Blair wanted me to die. She shot him and would have shot me too! I just wanted you two to know that you have successfully raised a criminal and you should sleep with one eye open. She's capable of murder! That being said, she's not invited to the wedding. I am also cutting all ties with her. To be specific, should you two show up at the manor with her, she will be turned away."
"Bea! What picture will it paint if your own sister is not at your wedding?" My mother asked me.
"I don't care."
"But Bea!" She protested.
"She has a right to react this way. If anything we are fortunate and thankful for her generosity. She hasn't pressed charges against Blair for the kidnapping and attempted murder."
