This entire contest has been a wonderful journey and all of the contestants put forth their best foot, submitting works of epic proportions and waiting patiently through each day of judging. Thank all of you for everything, it truly means a lot!

The Overall Winner is the contestant who, among the ranks, achieved the highest scores and top marks for all the judging criteria. It is an award not easy to win, and this certain contestant really went to the edge in their storytelling, cover, characters, and all that fun stuff.

Now, with all of that out of the way, we are happy to present the Overall Winner of the Tolkien Awards... The one... The only...

With a whopping 374/400 points, Silz claimed the top marks for her story in the Silmarillion category and in overall scoring!

This award is not an easy one to achieve and we would like to issue a huge congratulation to Silz for her accomplishment. A Different Kind of Heaven is a fanfiction in the category of a 'girl falls into Middle-Earth' story-- but with a twist.

Rather than taking place during the Fellowship of the Ring or the Hobbit, as most Tolkien fanfictions do, Silz's story plotline takes place during events of the Silmarillion, becoming a unique and refreshing twist to the usual OC-meets-MiddleEarth. This story is recommended to all the Tolkienites out there, as a fanfic with wonderful humor, heart-wrenching scenes, and refreshing romance of all sorts.

Once more, a huge congratulations to Silz! Wonderful job!
