Confused and dizzy, I'm now standing in front of large metal school gates.
My parents were sending me to school. Honestly I thought they might have been trying to let me live a normal life but no.
As I left the house for the first time in my life they avoided me as much as possible.
Wow. They sure looked a lot different from the last time I saw them. But surprisingly they still look young although I assume they're at the age of fifty.
Boy I missed them, their smiles, their faces even though they put me through hell, they will always be my family.
By now I was outside the door to my homeroom. I was scared to go inside I knew people would judge me.
If you couldn't tell I wasn't the best looking, I wasn't on the fit side either I didn't look fat but I definitely wasn't fit.
I was about to turn around and leave, but a feminine voice caught my attention. Me being the wimp I am too afraid to turn around to who ever was there I entered the class room.
All eyes were on me I heard a few giggles and people whispered, a lot of people whispered but I know if I was in there position I probably would too.
It was not fun to be laughed at but when you look like me you could expect something like that.
I tilted my head down just enough so I could avoid the horrid glares the students were giving me. Sitting myself on a seat towards the front so it was harder for most of them to see my face. I set up my desk and soon enough to the teacher walked in and everyone went silent.
"Good morning class today as you may know already we have a new student". No no please no! "Alex would you like to come up and talk a bit about yourself". Damn it!
About five minutes pasted with absolute silence until the girl next to me whispered. "Hey it'll be fine go on" she said with a smile. A nice smile. I gave her a small smile back. She was nice.
I'LL DO IT! I said to myself standing up in a flash. I looked in the teachers direction to see a confused expression on her face. Then I realised how stupid I probably looked doing that.
I quickly tilted my head down and walked towards the front. I could feel the glares everyone was giving me.
I looked towards the girl and she gave me a slight nod.
I knew I was talking but no words came out. Then some boy shouted "haha he's such a looser!" Soon the room erupted in laughter. The girl just sat there and gave me a warm smile as I sat back down at my desk.

Lunch came fast thankfully. I sat down on my own and ate my sandwich until I was soon interrupted.
It was her. The girl from homeroom.
She walked towards me and sat down. While I just stared. "Hi" she said
"Hi, um thanks. You know, I probably wouldn't have even stepped up there if it weren't for you"I smiled remembering what she said.
"No problem you clearly needed someone, and besides people made fun of me on my first day too". I looked at her confused.
"Why would people make fun of you your perfectly normal?" She didn't say anything nor did she need to.
I looked down and saw her quickly cover her wrist. She had been cutting. But why? I decided not to talk either but just show her my wrist as well. We looked at each other and smiled knowing that at least we weren't alone.
