"Aubrey we have to hurry if we want to get there in time!", Sydney screamed up the stairs.
"Two more minutes!", Aubrey replied. Aubrey and Sydney were carpooling to Aubrey's lake house. They would be meeting the rest of their friends there. When Aubrey was done packing she and Sydney were on their way. When they got there they went in and heard someone upstairs. They found this odd since to their knowledge they would be the first to arrive. They went up stairs to investigate the noise.
"Anyone here?", Sydney asked at the top of the stairs.
"Syd shut up! We don't know who that is!", said Aubrey. They pressed their ears to the door of the first bedroom on their right. They heard closet doors open and close. Aubrey whipped the door open.
"Raquel! What are you doing here! You weren't supposed to get here until later!", screamed Aubrey. Raquel was a friend of Aubrey and Sydney's.
"Sorry, I got here sooner than I thought I would. The drive wasn't as long as I thought. I figured it wouldn't be a problem.", Raquel replied.
"Give a girl some warning. You almost gave me a heart attack!" Sydney yelled.
"Sorry.", whispered Raquel. The girls helped each other unpack and went downstairs to wait for everyone else. They were expecting three more people to arrive, Mason, Jackson, and April. Awhile later when everyone had arrived the sun had already set, so they decided to have a bonfire. Mason and Jackson went to get some wood from behind the garage while the girls went to find some blankets. They were walking through the kitchen when Aubreys phone went off. She glanced at the message and quickly shut off her phone. The girls noticed but didn't say anything. They got the blankets and went outside. The fire started and they started talking when Aubrey's phone went off again. This time she read it aloud. It said I'd watch your back tonight. Aubrey started panicking.
"Guys what does this mean? Should I be worried?", Aubrey asked.
"Don't worry about it. It's probably a dumb prank.", April replied. The rest of the group then started receiving the same messages. They didn't think much of it so they turned off their phones and went to sleep. They checked their phones in the morning and no new messages. They thought this confirmed it was a prank. They met downstairs and ate breakfast, but Aubrey had never came down. Sydney went up stairs to wake her up, but all she found was her best friend with a knife through her chest.
