It's the next week, and things have been running smoothly so far. There's been no more threats, although me and Drake bicker like crazy.
Me and everyone else, however, have been getting along perfectly. I can finally say that everyone has warmed up to me.
"Alright guys!" I stand in the center of the office the next day, six packets in my hand.
"What's up, Hana?" They ask as they all turn their attention towards me.
"I've calculated our days and our spending schefule, and we have plenty of spare time and money to go on a company retreat!" Everyone's faces light up at my words.
"Here, everyone take one," I pass out the papers. "Its a cabin retreat with hot tubs, massaging places, restaurants, and even a lake with a perfect view of the sunset."
"You've all been working hard, so you all need a treat!" I smile. "I think this would also help me to get along with everyone even more, since I'm fairly new!"
"That sounds great! I'm in!" Betty agrees to it first. "I need a relaxing day!"
"I'll go too! It's been a while since I've had a massage," Addie is the next one to pitch in.
"If Ms. Addie is going, then I'm going as well!" Grover agrees.
"We'll both go, sure!" Fei and Andrew give their vote of approval.
All eyes now turn to look at Drake, who's still reading through the packet.
He glances up and around at all of us. "I don't know, trips aren't really my thing-"
"He'll be there, don't worry!" Betty assures. "Relax, Drake, it's only for two days and one night."
"Hey, wait a second here, I didn't agree to-"
"Great!" I interrupt him. "I'll go book our rooms!"
I happily skip off into my office, sliding into my chair, and begin to type on my new laptop.
Turns out management couldn't fix the whole 'give me your files' issue, so dad just bought me another one to replace it.
I'm adding in our room numbers when my door opens.
"Shouldn't you knock?" I chastise Drake who walks in the room.
"Andrew wants to know if you have any other...oh, what did he call it?" I watch him as he pinches the bridge of his nose.
His right foot taps on the ground, and for a second I think that he looks rather cute.
"Ah!" He snaps his fingers. "Any more sidekick ideas? Whatever that means."
"Oh, yeah I'll get right on it," I finalize our trip by clicking the 'Book' button.
"Drake," I look up at him from my desk, and close my laptop. "I'm going to need a ride to the cabins."
"Get a bus," He deadpans as he begins to walk out of the room.
I jump out of my chair and run up to him, grabbing his wrist. "I was thinking you drive me there."
He spins around to face me.
The bow tie he has on today is black, and it matches his hair and eyes. I also just now notice the light freckles he has dusting his cheekbones.
"Why should I drive you?" He asks, his eyes growing big.
"Don't assistants drive their bosses?" I question.
"Not this assistant," He begins to run off again. "Drive yourself."
"Please," I suddenly run in front of him, placing my hands on his chest, halting him from moving. "I don't- I don't have a license or I would drive myself."
