There are people talking around me as I feel myself awake from my sleeping state.
My eyes flutter open, and I see the workers around me.
"She's awake!"
"How are you feeling?"
"Are you in any pain?"
"Can we help you?"
Seeing them all concerned makes a slight smile come onto my face.
"I'm fine, what happened?" I ask, looking around at all of the workers.
"That son of a bitch AvaStar shot you on the street!" We all look at Betty with shock, not used to hearing her curse.
"He's in jail now! So dont worry! We finally caught him!" Addie cheers.
"He's caught?" I ask. "You caught him?"
"It wasn't us," Andrew says. "It was Drake. He went there himself right after you blacked out."
"He beat the shit out of him!" Grover throws punches in the air, mimicking a fist fight. "I heard Drake punched him so hard that he broke his jaw bone!"
I smile. "Where is Drake?" I ask, not seeing him in the room.
There's an awkward silence that follows as soon as I ask, and everyone looks at each other.
"He's at the office," Fei answers. "He's packing his things up."
"What?" My eyes grow. "Why would he do that?"
"He's guilty about what happened to you," Betty says. "He said he doesn't deserve to be your assistant anymore if he can't protect you."
I sit up, a sharp pain shooting through my side. I continue to get up, and I swing my feet out onto the side of the bed.
"Hana!"
"What are you doing?!"
"Get back into bed!"
"You're still injured!"
"I've got to stop him," I say, gritting my teeth as I yank the IV out of my arm, the machine immediately starting to beep and flash red.
I slide my feet into the hospital shoes they gave me, and I stand up. I'm still a little wobbly, but I quickly regain my balance.
"Hana, I can't let you do this, you're still injured," Grover grabs my wrist as I begin walking.
"Let me go or consider yourself jobless," I snap.
His eyes grow and he gently lets my hand loose. "Yes Ma'am Miss Jett, who am I to stop you?"
I run out the door as fast as possible, holding my side to try and ease the pain.
With every hard breath I take, it makes it sting more.
I run until I reach the office building and burst through the door.
There's no one in the room, and I'm about to leave when I hear shuffling around.
I walk up to Drake's office door, and there's a crack in it. I peer through and I see him packing things into boxes. His desk is cleared off, and everything on his shelves was, too.
I gently push the door enough so that it's completely open.
"What do you think you're doing?" I ask, making him spin around to face me.
"Hana," He starts."You should be in the hospital, so why are you-"
"You should be there too with the others," I say, stepping closer to him. "Why are you packing?"
