Right as we walk in, I glance down at my textbook which seemed pretty lightweight.
Oh, no, I thought.
The girls were talking so much that I didn't grab the correct book for class.
As Mikaela and Paige make way to their seats, I say, "Oh, wait guys. I grabbed the wrong textbook."
I sigh, knowing that Ms. Helena Tensen will not be happy if I can't participate in class by having the wrong book.
Ms. Tensen is the physics teacher.
Some people, including me occasionally, will joke around and call her 'Hella Tense.'
Yes, it's a stupid nickname, but she acts so strictly all of the time. I swear the woman never smiles or finds joy in anything. Anyway, it's not like I'm the first person ever in history to make a mistake and forget something.
I walk over to her desk, "Excuse me, Ms. Tensen. Could I have a hall pass to get my textbook out of my locker? Please."
She raises her annoyed eyebrows, "Fine, but hurry back. We have a lot to cover today."
She hands me the hall pass and I'm on my way out the door.
As I walk to my locker, which is not exactly close by, I begin thinking about how it would one day be nice if I could find a boy who will treat me right.
Yeah, I know, that thought is totally random and very forward.
But it would be cool to crush on a boy and his return the same feelings. I would love to be able to plan and go on cute little dates with my guy.
I have had my share of secret crushes on boys in my school, celebrities I've never met, and even cute strangers, I passed by while out shopping with my best friends.
But I have only ever had two boyfriends.
Both were complete douche canoes.
Hell yeah, they were that bad.
Too touchy-feely and arrogant for my liking.
So, maybe the third time's a charm, as people always say. Maybe guy number three will work out for once and not end in an utterly ridiculous disaster.
I roll my eyes so hard at my thoughts.
Come on, I can daydream about something way better!
If I am almost always thinking about boys, then there is a problem because boys cannot be my entire life. Just as I continue to get lost in my daydream, I arrive at my locker.
Entering the combination into the padlock and opening it successfully, I switch out my English book for my physics one.
As I close my locker door, I hear a squeaking sound coming from somewhere down the hall. The sound keeps getting closer to me. It sounds like the sound a sneaker make with it squeaks along the tile floor.
Just as I confirm the noise and about to turn left around the corner, someone collides with me and there is a sound of a bunch of popping like something broke.
We both fall onto the floor and some liquid splashes everywhere.
Trying to sit up, I want to know who ran into me.
I notice some paint balloons popped all over me, the hallway, and Zeke Danvers.
Great, I thought.
He sits up on his elbows and looks into my baby blue eyes. Before Zeke or I could say anything, Principal Hammerstein stands near us and he looks angry.
"So, it was you two who were behind the paint balloon prank," Principal Hammerstein says as he glares at us.
I guess the principal didn't catch who set up the prank, at least not until Zeke came out of nowhere and covered both of us in the evidence.
Shaking my head, "No, I wasn't a part of that."
Zeke just sits there on the paint covered floor in silence.
"Detention both of you! Every Saturday morning until all paint remains are removed," Hammerstein states.
"What, me?" I try to question his statement.
Staring after Hammerstein as he walks down the hallway, he says, "My decision is final. Get cleaned up and back to class!"
I turn my head back around to face Zeke. My mouth is hanging open as I sigh.
I can't believe it.
I got detention!
I've never had detention before.
As I look at Zeke, all he can do is shrug his shoulders as if he is saying, sorry my bad!
The paint splattered school floor is completely his bad and I bet he isn't even really sorry.

Hello readers! First of all, I would like to say welcome and thank you for taking some time out of your lovely day to read my story.
Detention! Oh, no. Have you ever gotten detention before especially for something that wasn't your fault? I haven't. Head on over to chapter 7!
Enjoy! :)
