A Friends Promise (Izuku Midoriya x reader)

~Origin~

"S-stop it Kacchan!! Its not nice to hurt people l-like that, You're making her cry! if you don't stop! I-ill stop you myself!!" Young Midoriya fearfully yells out to the spiked haired boy, along with two other boys who obviously would do whatever the blonde said. Tears begin to brim in the corners of young Midoriya's eyes. Standing directly in front of a beaten, crying, young (H/c) girl, about the same age as himself.

"You want to pretend to be a hero?" The young blonde teases, slamming his fist into the palm of his other hand, emitting a small amount of fire. 

"You don't stand a chance without a quirk... Deku." Kacchan smiles, him and his friends charging at the green haired boy; beating him to a pulp.

"Next time, don't even make an effort. you're never going to be a hero and you should learn to except that!" The red-eyed boy laughs, kicking the beaten small boy as he lay on the ground crying.

"And as to you." Kacchan turns to the beaten girl "don't even try to be a hero with that puny little quirk of yours, bird brain."

"Why don't you focus on being a hero instead of beating people who share the same dream, meanie." (Y/n) spat as a pair of tiny white wings grow from her back.

"And don't hurt him, just because he doesn't have a quirk doesn't mean he can't be a hero! He has just as much potential as you!" (y/n) yells, now limping towards Kacchan.

"Pfft, you really are an idiot. Someone without a quirk would never even come close to a hero, he'll die in an instant. And those with a weak, no good quirk will have the same outcome." Bakugo teases, punching (y/n) in the nose. his little gang laughs along with the red eyed child

"Why don't you mind your own business..." (y/n) mutters, wiping away blood from her nose. Tears brimming in the corner of her eyes as she she sheepishly walks away from the angry child and to the crying green haired boy.

"Whatever, you won't get far anyways. You're not an obstacle. Why do I even bother." Kacchan growls as he and his friends walk away from the two beaten children.

"Are you okay...? You look hurt.." (y/n) sits down next to the green haired boy, beaten and shocked.

"I think I-I'm okay..I'm sorry I bothered you, I just thought.., I could try to at least protect someone. But I know kacchan was right.. I'll never be a hero, I'm quirkless and that'll never change..." He choked, tears begin to flow down his cheeks.

"Hey... don't cry!! What you did back there for me was amazing! If anything you're my hero!!" (Y/n) exclaims. Trying to comfort him.

"R-really??" He asked.

"Really." (y/n) repeated

"Thank you.." the young boy blushed

"You're welcome! My name is (y/n), what's yours?"

"I'm Izuku, Izuku Midoriya. I get called deku to be made fun of.. that's why kacchan was calling me that." Izuku says.

"And why would anyone make fun of you?" (Y/n) asked.

"Because I'm quirkless and I dream to be a hero." Izuku mutters.

"I think you can be a hero!! You have the heart, and to me, that's all that matters" (y/n) reassures, Izuku beams with happiness.

"You know.. I want to be a hero too! I want to grow up and be just like All Might!! (Y/n) claims in a passionate tone.

"Really!!!! You like All Might!! I love All Might! He's the greatest in the universe!!!" Izuku squeals in delight

"I know right!! When I grow up I want to be just like him!! A hero!!" (Y/n) grins

"Me too!! Let's be heroes together!! You and me!! Fighting crime together!!" Izuku passionately exclaims

"We can keep each other safe! Protect each other! Fight crime and save people in need together! I'm in!" (Y/n) agrees.

"I'll keep you safe! I promise" Izuku sincerely says

"I promise to keep you safe as well, Izuku!" (Y/n) returns the promise

"I promise" the two say in unison, smiling.

~This promise would last a lifetime, two children turn to teenagers with the same goal~
