A Friends Promise (Izuku Midoriya x reader)

~The Exam~

(Y/n)'s POV

Apparently U.A wants me and the rest of the recommended students to come and watch the entrance exam. I don't know how the exam works, I'm just hoping izuku will make it. But I know in my heart that the chances are unlikely considering him not having a quirk.. but I will always believe in him.   Even when it seems impossible. I step out of my apartment and begin to walk to the famous hero academy. At the moment, it is around 5:34 in the morning, I don't know how the hell the teachers expect us to be at the school by six, and have the exam start at seven. I'm barely even awake. Luckily for me, I don't have to do any fighting. Unlike the other people hoping to get in, they have to face who knows what this early in the morning. I yawn, and continue to walk.

As I get closer to U.A, I walk past the same alleyway that decided my future. I still see marks on the walls from the impact of being thrown. I don't know wether to shudder or smile. I faced death in the eyes, but yet again... I lived and facing that beast is the reason I'm even walking to this school now. I know I shouldn't act all nostalgic right now, so I continue to walk. I pull out my phone and text izuku to wish him luck, I don't want to wake him in case he is sleeping, he needs as much rest as he possibly can..

Approaching the gigantic school my eyes widen in amazement.

"It's even bigger in person!!"  I say to myself

As I look ahead I see two students around my age standing at the front of the school. One student with really cool looking two colored hair, one side white, the other red. He seems to have a burn mark on the red side, with one bright blue on that same side. His stoic expression is mildly intimidating.

The other student with raven hair, in a hairstyle I have never even seen before, she looks super cleaned up and well dressed. As I approach they both turn to me. The male remains to have the same stoic expression while the raven haired girl gives off a friendly smile.

"Hi!!! I'm Momo Yaoyorozu! I'm assuming you're one of the recommended students as well?" She holds out a hand, I kindly shake it and open my mouth to speak.

"I'm (y/n) (l/n)! Nice to meet you! And yeah! I am!" I smile

"You look awfully familiar." The boy with the two toned hair pipes in. "Are you that one girl who saved a whole bunch of children from that monster villain a few months ago?" The young man questioned

"Well... umm.. yeah!!" I nervously laugh. I didn't think people would recognize me just from the news so much.

"Really!! Oh wow! You did so amazing! The way you kicked that thing to knock it unconscious was so awesome! It looked like it took you nothing." Yaoyorozu chimes in, I smile and rub the back of my head.

"Well it actually did take a lot out of me, it hurt my leg pretty bad. I'm surprised it seemed like that!" I laugh. I can tell Yaoyorozu and I will become close friends, she seems pretty awesome! The young man with the two toned hair looks at me, he looks impressed, he then holds out a hand, I gladly shake his hand just as I did for Yaoyorozu.

"I'm Shoto Todoroki. Taking down a villain as just a third year middle schooler takes guts. I'm impressed.  You have a pretty impressive quirk as well." Todoroki implies, his cold and aloof personality is still very intimidating, but I don't feel nearly as intimidated as before.

"Why thank you. May I ask what your quirk is?" I add on, causing Todoroki to pick up his head.

"My quirk is Half-Cold, Half-Hot. I can emit ice out of my right side and fire on my left. I choose not to use my left side for reasons I will not mention, my quirk can come in handy." Todoroki replies nonchalantly.
