Chapter Nine

‘I’m lost in empty pillow talk again’

I lazily smacked my hands around the bed, searching for my buzzing phone as it blasted my alarm song.

I found it and turned it on, the brightness made me cringe and drop it on the floor.

Not before seeing the time though.

2:10 PM

“SHIT!”

I bolted out of bed and dived for the pile of clothes on my dressing table.

shit shit shit shit shit

I jumped up and down tugging my stupid skinny jeans on and grabbing a grey top at the same time.

WHO SLEEPS IN UNTIL 2:10 IN THE AFTERNOON (me, actually. when its cold and I’m in a nice bed)

The aching headache in my mind wasn’t helping the sudden panic.

Do not go out into a city you don’t know and come back at 2 in the morning when you’re working on the x factor crew the following day you absolute idiot

I could almost hear Amelia laughing and giving me a lecture from miles away.

We have to be at the stadium by 3.

I grabbed my denim bag and ran out the door.

“TAXI? HEY!”

After sprinting down the spiral staircase I ran out to the black taxi, which was just about to drive out onto the traffic filled road.

He took his eyes off the dashboard and stuck his head out the window,

“Need a ride, love?”

“Yes, thanks!” I answered as I ran towards the vehicle.

“Where you off to?”

I caught my breath finally inside the cab.

“The concert halls? City halls?”

I don’t even remember the real name of the stadium, how organised I am for this.

“I know exactly where you mean, don’t worry darl’”

“Please hurry.”

He drove onto the busy road and away in seconds.

30 minutes later

“Thank you!” I yelled, throwing the money at him before running towards the giant reflective arena.

“Hi, is this where the X Factor crew go?”

The guard gave me a funny look, then lifted his hand out.

“Pass?”

I reached into the pocket of my (extremely) tight jeans, and with no luck of finding the laminated paper I panicked and reached for the blue denim bag, no sign of it there either.

Fuck.

My jacket pocket.

“I, I left it, I left it in-“

“No pass, no entry.”

He stared at me blatantly, like this was a normal thing for him.

Just as I was considering how to break in the black doors opened to a familiar face.
