FIVE – Foundation of 5Live
When Sungjin joined, he was one of the few who focused a lot more on singing. Initially, he did join the dance practice but in the end, JYP himself decided that Sungjin should focus more on his singing and his music sense. It's not that Sungjin was super bad at dancing but singing is still his biggest forte.
Jaebum and Jinyoung had laughed when Sungjin told them about JYP's decision but Sungjin wasn't offended. He knew that as much as dancing is fun; his strengths were still his voice and his music sense. Jaebum and Jinyoung often go to him when they met some difficulties; after all, he was indeed the best singer out of the three of them.
It's been like this for a while until Wonpil, a new guy joined them. He was the same age as Jinyoung, which was probably why they click off well. They've often joked that Sungjin and Jaebum act too much like two old men. Especially Sungjin, the oldest of them all, he's always the first one to hit the sack.
By that time, Bambam could already understand a little of their conversation. However, he wasn't really clear of it sometimes; Jinyoung and Wonpil will use that to their advantage and teach Bambam some words to make fun of Sungjin.
And so, Bambam, being the kid he was, joined in unintentionally.
Wonpil was part of the dance team for a while but he was soon assigned to be part of the vocal team instead. It wasn't because he was bad but because JYP had plans to form two contrasting groups again, just like how he did with 2AM and 2PM. Wonpil with his keyboard playing skills was one of the reasons why he was assigned to the vocal team.
Sungjin and Wonpil focused on a lot of music making and their singing much more than Jaebum, Jinyoung and Bambam. It's not long before their dorm was filled with Sungjin's random chords, which Wonpil will then join in. It was one of the boys' favourite past time; sometimes they will also encourage the young Bambam to show off some of his piano skills.
Before his trainee life, Jaebum only knew bits and pieces of the different instruments but, ever since Sungjin and Wonpil joined, he had stolen some of their playing skills. That was the life of the five boys in their dorm.
And then, Brian joined.
He was already in a band before and had a lot of performing experiences. The five boys had watched his audition performances and had managed to find his Youtube channel, which they've heard from the other staffs. Brian and his friend both got in but only Brian was assigned to their dorm.
"Hello?" Brian stepped into the apartment, greeting hesitantly with his luggage beside him. The first to greet him was a small Bambam who poked his head out from behind the sofa. God knows what he was doing there but Brian was definitely surprised by him.
"Hello there," Brian greeted again. "I'm Brian Kang, are you the only one here?"
"Are you the new guy?"
"Bambam, be respectful." Before Brian could reply, another voice interrupted the conversation. Brian turned to where the source of the voice is from and saw another boy walked out from his room; he introduced himself as Jaebum.
Slowly, the rest finally realized that a new addition had joined and everyone came out to greet him.
Brian was a pretty good dancer too but his songwriting skill was even better, which was one of the reasons why he worked with Sungjin and Wonpil more than the others. It took Brian not too long to get comfortable with the others and when he did, he will always be found in an empty practice room with Sungjin and Wonpil during their free times.
On someday, Jaebum, Jinyoung, Bambam and their new roommate, Mark will join them while the three of them just jam to some random chords. The seven of them will just stay in the small training room together until their next class or them getting chased out.
It didn't take long for the small training room to be too small for the group because now, the three girls, Jihyo, Jungyeon and Nayeon who are in the same training batch as them started joining them more frequently. Before Nayeon had joined, Jihyo and Jungyeon would occasionally join them since they're curious. But nowadays, the three girls hand out more often with the seven of them now.
"Are all of you going to stay and watch us?" Sungjin's eyes wandered around the small room and the group in front of them.
"Why not?" Nayeon shrugged lightly. "It's nice to watch you guys practice. Will there be new songs today?"
Nayeon had always been one to speak whatever's on her mind; one of the reasons why she blended in so easily.
Sungjin, Brian and Wonpil stared at the seven of them who were just standing right there casually with the exception of Bambam and Nayeon. They were both sitting on the floor.
"Just don't mind us." Mark spoke up, "We're just bored."
"Look, even Mark opened his mouth!" Jinyoung joked, causing quiet snickers to fill the room. "So just do what you guys always do."
"Are you guys shy?" This time, it was Jungyeon who teased them.
"Of course not! It's just-"
"Just start already," Jaebum interrupted Brian. "Then we will go for dinner after."
The rest nodded to Jaebum's words. Sungjin, Brian and Wonpil glanced at each other then to the crowd and they smiled. If you can't beat them, join them. And it seemed like the seven friends of theirs are stubborn pricks.
"Well then," Sungjin grinned widely. "You guys are lucky because we, 3Live have a new song today."
The rest of the room laughed at the joke Sungjin tried to make. 3Live was a random name Bambam came up with randomly while they were hanging out. The three involved members cringed at the name at first so they didn't expect Sungjin to bring it up again.
"See! I told you guys it's a great name!"
The room was filled with laughter again before it quietened down as the sound of the guitar and keyboard started to take over the silence.
In the year 2010, Sungjin, Brian and Wonpil had no idea that their random practices together will lead to the birth of a wonderful rock band of JYPE.

I didn't want to update initially since I've been writing for the past few days. However, Day6's comeback changed my mind. It's probably a coincidence that this chapter was dedicated to them. So I figured, I need to update today. Have you guys watched their MV tho?
Just one more chapter before the introductory part ends. That's all for now, I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter and I hope it's satisfying.
Oh and, I've been trying to write in a more descriptive form rather than one with more conversations than descriptions. Do you prefer this or? Leave some votes and feedbacks on what you like or don't like about this series so I can improve!
