TEN – Sisters' Bond

Being the only three girls in the gang was probably one of the reasons why Nayeon, Jeongyeon and Jisoo shared a special relationship as compared to the others. They would always be seen together even when there's no practice.

On some days, the three of them would prefer to stay in their dorm; whether it's just watching some chick flicks, making a mess in the kitchen or even rushing to complete their homework. No matter what they're doing, there won't be a long silence.

The silence would either be broken by Nayeon's random chattering; Jeongyeon disturbing Nayeon or simply just laughter from Jisoo because of how ridiculous her both unnies were acting.

"Yah Yoo Jeongyeon, stop it!" Nayeon whined as she focused on mixing the flour mixture. It was a Sunday and since they had nothing planned, she had suggested for them to bake some cookies. However, Jeongyeon wasn't making it easier for her; she's been applying flour on Nayeon's cheek a few times now.

Jisoo, who's in charge of cutting the already mixed dough into the shapes they want, was just laughing at them. Sometimes she wondered if the two girls in front of her are really older than her.

"Jisoo, you're laughing?" Jeongyeon turned her attention to the younger girl with a mischievous grin.

"Do not even try." Jisoo warned, giving Jeongyeon a nervous smile. "You should be preparing to bake our first batch of cookies!"

Nayeon nodded firmly, glancing back at the other two girls but Jeongyeon simply shrugged.

"I can do that well, let me have some fun."

"You already had a lot of fun!" Nayeon turned her body around and pointed at her flour-covered cheeks.

Jisoo can't help but laugh even though she felt bad for Nayeon. However, this is definitely an image worth capturing. As if she had read Jisoo's mind, Jeongyeon quickly grabbed her phone and took a snapshot of the current Nayeon.

"YAH!"

Both Jisoo and Jeongyeon burst into fits of giggles at Nayeon's outburst. But that didn't last that long as Nayeon stepped forward to them with her dirty hands and before they could react, she had also smeared some flour onto each of their faces.

Despite the whining and complaints from Jisoo and Jeongyeon, the smiles on the three girls' face never once disappeared as they continue with their baking session for the rest of that afternoon.

Of course, other than the laughter, the three girls shared a lot of tears together too. Just like how the boys had each other for support and guidance, the three of them had each other too.

In JYPE, trainees would have their monthly assessments; it's almost like a mini test to see if the trainees were doing well enough or were they passionate enough. Everytime before each assessment, it's the period when the three girls got nervous despite it being held every month.

And during that particular month, Jisoo was really stressed over it; way more than before since she got reprimanded pretty badly during their last vocal training.

"Jisoo?" Nayeon poked her head into the dark practice room, stepping into it slowly with Jeongyeon following behind.

"Jisoo ah." Jeongyeon stepped in and switched on the lights of the room. She shared a glance with Nayeon as they both sighed inwardly at Jisoo's figure by the wall. It's obvious to them both that the younger girl had been crying.

Neither of them said anything and just walked up to her, settling down on the floor by Jisoo's sides.

"Am I going to fail this time?" Jisoo mumbled after a short while which caused Nayeon and Jeongyeon to look at her.

"You won't." Nayeon's firm words are the first reply she got.

"You will do really well." Jeongyeon added on, "Really well."

"But..."

"Shh." Nayeon shushed her up and wrapped her arms around the younger one's body. "There's no but. You will definitely do well."

Jeongyeon imitated what Nayeon did and hugged Jisoo too, smiling a little as she pat her side gently.

"Trust Nayeonie for once."

"Yah, what do you mean by that!" Nayeon smacked Jeongyeon's arm gently.

Jisoo couldn't help but to chuckle quietly at her two older best friends' banters. It had always been amusing to her even though she would contribute to teasing Nayeon. But it's probably what made her feel really comfortable with the two of them.

Nayeon and Jeongyeon stopped their banters, pulling away from the group hug slightly and looked at Jisoo with a wide smile on both of their faces.

"You're laughing."

"See, you look so much prettier when you're smiling." Nayeon smiled at her own statement but that smile turned to a frown in a matter of seconds. "I just said you're pretty, why are you crying now!"

"I can't help it!" Jisoo cried in frustration as she tried to wipe her tears away. "They wouldn't stop."

Nayeon and Jeongyeon both fussed over the younger girl while her tears flowed. She didn't even realized that she's tearing up too until Jeongyeon brought it up.

"Nayeon, why are you crying too?"

Nayeon tapped her cheek then wiped the tear away as she let out an awkward laugh.

"I can't help it!" She repeated what Jisoo had said before which made Jisoo laughed again.

"Don't make me laugh!"

"Laugh, you're prettier that way." Nayeon nodded firmly as she continued to wipe her tears away. It was a whole mess of laughing and crying together between the three of them.

It was also at that moment when Jisoo realized that she's finally not alone and that she finally had people she can rely on, people of her age whom she can trust.

"Oh you guys are here." Sungjin's voice interrupted the moment between the three girls who looked up towards the door. There stood Sungjin, Wonpil and Jinyoung.

"We've been looking for you girls. Dinner, remember?" Jinyoung stated calmly, his hands in his pockets.

Nayeon, Jeongyeon and Jisoo stood up together.

"Did you girls cry again?" Wonpil who didn't miss how Nayeon and Jisoo were tapping their cheeks dry asked. "Why are you girls always crying?"

As if on cue, the three girls threw a glare at his direction.

"Shut up Wonpil, you cry too!" Nayeon retorted back while Sungjin and Jinyoung watched them in amusement.

"Let's discuss about this later, alright?" Sungjin chuckled and gestured the girls to leave with them. "Bambam and Chris had been complaining that they're hungry."

Next Chapter: Brothers

---------

This is a late update for Friends of 2010 since I was busy last week. We are already at Chapter Ten for this one shot series and I am still amazed at how most of you are still here with me. Even the silent ones. I am starting to worry that you guys will get bored since there aren't any actual conflicts (there will be some soon) and that it's actually more of a casual "life story" of the trainees. What do you guys think? Is it still okay? Did I get the characterisation right or similar? I just have to really check. Since according to the planning, things are going to get fun for the next nine chapters. So stay with me, yeah?

Again, votes and feedbacks will be really loved. Thank you for reading this chapter!

signing off, leen

p.s. next chapter, what are your guesses of who it will be? will dedicate the chapter to those people who guessed it right!
