Chapter 04
Complicated Matter
Beatrice Gorge was the native super hero of Philadelphia, Pennsylvia. Her power was that she could pixelate herself and travel through any surface, no matter how strong or thick. The name she was called was Phase. She had had the biggest crime bust of the century only one month ago. A new type of stereroid was being smuggled; a stereroid that was permanent, and could be activated and deactived through concentrating on one area of the body.
Professor Wesley Kropp was seething as he slammed the phone down. After weeks of testing, his Quantum Time Brake (he had finally given the Time Slower-Downer Thingy a geekier name) was at last ready, but Yobi Tech Co. in Las Vegas, Nevada wasn't about to think that anybody could invent anything that could slow down time. "After all this time, not one person will believe me," he vented. "They will pay for everything they put me through. Everything I've achieved, all I've done, was for THIS???? There is NO way that I will EVER work to please them again. In fact, why don't I pay them a little visit....."
Alex was having lunch when the nurse walked in. "There is someone who would like to see you," she said. Alex put his tray down and said,"Who is it?" "Why don't you let him in and find out?" said a familiar voice. Alex made a mile-long grin as Nick C. Armoth was walked through his door. Alex got up and they gave each other the joy-filled embrace only true friends will ever know. "Whoa! Easy on the back bro!" exclaimed Nick. "Sorry man, when did you wake up?" "Just two days ago. The bandages came off this morning." Nick looked like new. He had only sustained second-degree burns from the incident, but they were everywhere. "Alex, I wanted to talk to you privately about some strange things that have been happening to me since the incident." Alex was immediately interested, "Tell me more." "It's kind of hard to explain, but..." he walked over to the mirror in the bathroom and motioned for Alex to join him. "Look what I can do." He reached up to the mirror and touched it, and the mirror rippled like when you throw a pebble into a pool. Alex's eyes started getting wide. "That's not all," Nick started getting a mischievous glint in his eye. Then, he shoved his whole arm into the mirror like it was nothing, and then, he climbed into the mirror.
