My Stupid Jerk Mate

Chapter Five

C H A P T E R 5

I heard a howl that brought chills down my spine.

Diego.

Even though he rejected me and I accepted his rejection, I still feel a little. His howl was filled with sadness and it made me curious.

Why was he sad? This made me felt a little sad.

I shouldn't be caring, right? Somehow the howl is calling out to me while I was trying to resist it, it isn't working anymore.

"You can go back home first, I'm going for a run." I told my brother and he just nodded, not suspecting anything.

I took off my clothes and put it under my favorite tree. Then I shifted.

I ran towards Diego's scent and I easily found him near the cliff.

As if knowing I'm there, he turned around and saw me. I saw him jerk his head in confusion.

I went over to him and nipped at him at his legs. He growled playfully at me and before he can retaliate, I ran.

He took after me too, hot on my tails. I never felt so much fun in such a long time.

I pushed away the rejection and all, and enjoy the time with my mate while I can.

After an hour of playing, we were drinking water beside the lake. Then I lay down. Diego came beside me and muzzled his snout through my fur. I purred in response.

Diego's wolf fur colour is a midnight blue-black. It's kinda beautiful.

My wolf has silver-ish grey fur and patches of black. Weird, I know.

It's dark now. Time to go home. I didn't want to leave Diego, but I know I have to.

I walked back in my wolf form to my favorite tree and shifted back to my human form and started putting on my clothes.

"Rosa."

I jumped and turn around.

Diego.

In his birthday suit.

As if being scalded, I squealed and quickly turned around.

He laughed, his laughter like melody to my ears.

Sigh.

"What do you want, Diego?" I asked, tired.

"I just want to talk." He said. I narrowed my eyes at him.

"So talk." I replied.

"Look, I'm sorry for rejecting you, I really didn't know what was running through my mind that day. I'm really sorry and I truly regret it. Maybe I was just scared to be tied down, you know? But I realized how wonderful you are. Will you forgive me?" He asked, tears glistening in his eyes.

My heart broke at that sight that I almost cried.

"Alright, I'll forgive you. But don't think we will be getting together any time soon mister." I said.

His face broke out into a wide smile that it made my insides warm and fuzzy. He had such cute smile.

"Thanks a lot, you don't know how much it means to me." He rushed out and hugged me.

His hug felt so wonderful, so warm and I felt safe in his arms. So I hugged back.

I know I can't let myself go closer to him any time soon, I had to see if he truly wants to change.

So much for a new start, huh?

DIEGO'S POV

Not awhile later, I smelt the most wonderful smell.

My mate.

Rosa's here?

I turned around with confusion written on my face. I wanted to run over to her and hug her but we're in wolf form. I am still confused why is she here.

I think my howl lured her here. Hmm.

Suddenly I felt a nip at my legs. I saw Rosa giving me a wolfish grin then in response, I playfully growled at her.

Then we played with each other in wolf forms for an hour or so.

The sky is already dark so Rosa had to go before Randy comes all ape shit on me.

I trailed after her and I shifted back to my human form.

"Rosa." I called out.

She turned around, squealed and jumped. I laughed because that sight is too cute and funny.

"What do you want, Diego?" She asked, tiredly.

"I just want to talk." I said. She narrowed my eyes at me.

"So talk." She replied.

"Look, I'm sorry for rejecting you, I really didn't know what was running through my mind that day. I'm really sorry and I truly regret it. Maybe I was just scared to be tied down, you know? But I realized how wonderful you are. Will you forgive me?" I asked, not caring that tears were glistening in my eyes.

She looked like she's gonna cry.

"Alright, I'll forgive you. But don't think we will be getting together any time soon mister." She said.

My face broke out into a wide smile.

"Thanks a lot, you don't know how much it means to me." I rushed out and hugged her. To my surprise she hugged me back.

Today was the best day of my life, I got to play with Rosa. I may sound whipped but I don't care, anything for Rosa.

Why did I ever reject her?

I will win her back. I know it won't be easy, but I will do it no matter what.

I shifted back to my wolf and trotted back home happily.

When I reached home my Dad and Mum was looking at me puzzled.

"Son, why do you look so happy?" My dad asked.

"I got to play with Rosa and her wolf." I said, smiling.

"Good, fix things up. She's a nice girl and she gone through a lot already." My mum said.

"I will. Goodnight!" I said to them and heard them reply me while I was heading to my room.
