It's been three days since Charles and I were planning to find the perfect recruits for our team. We've found four; each has a story, amazing abilities that can be useful in the battlefield, and for their rebellious acts against Jonathan.
First on our list: Xenia Rosefield. Twenty years old, Daughter of one of the riches family in Silvervale, heir to their company and has the history on which her mother was killed by Jonathan. Her father was the director of weaponry, James Rosefield. He was one of the best weapons experts in the Silvervale.
When Xenia's mother died, he retired and will to her the company. Xenia now runs the company and canceled the partnership with Jonathan. We simply sent her a letter telling to go to a restaurant near her company to talk about partnership.
She has long curly raven hair and eyebrows that seem to disappear as it expands to her face. She has a prominent forehead and stands about five foot three. She wears glamorous clothes and high heels and currently engaged to a wealthy duke.
When she arrived, I introduced myself as Larry West and my colleague Charles as Bryan Tide. We have to be invisible in the eyes and ears of anyone here in Silvervale even from her. We both wore sharp suits with no neckties, and a shield on our belts.
"Welcome Ms. Rosefield, we're here to talk about something else. We're Detectives." Charles said and they shook hands. I reached out my hand to her and shook as well.
She was wearing a lacy black dress with ribbons on her shoulders that served as sleeves. She looked to both of us before she grabbed the menu on the side of the table. It's difficult to identify her expression because of her smug face. She looks like she has a resting bitch face.
"Mr. Bryan isn't it? Beg your pardon but what are we going to discuss then if it's not the partnership." she said with hesitation as she crosses her arms and leaned forward, and her eyes narrowed.
"We've read your profile. We know what happened to Mrs. Rosefield. She didn't die by accident." I said directly as I raise a brow.
Her smug face disappears as if I hit a nerve. She glares to me for what it feels like an hour because it was followed by a silence. Her mouth set on a hard line.
Way to go to break thin ice. I shouldn't have done that.
Good thing the waiter broke the ambience to ask for our orders. She suddenly changes as she shut her eyes for a second with a half-smile on her face and sighs.
She gladly ordered rib-eye steak for all of us and a bottle of their best champagne. She waited until the waiter have gone and started to talk again.
"Yeah, I saw it. I didn't have the courage to tell what happened because I saw the king." She clasped her hands and bowed down. "The crash was on purpose. I was with her when the accident happened, I manage to escape the wreckage then I saw him took my mother's body out the car and checks her. Then he burned her right after." Her eyes became glossy as she continued.
