I left him and went to do what i said I was going to do and worked the field until the sun kissed the sky good morning.

I held onto the shovel and looked around, the hole was big enough but something in me kept on saying we needed to dig some more. If we couldn't afford these people their solitary Graves we could atleast provide them with more room.

And because of this I dug until midday. When the sun reached its peak and told me it was enough. Climbed out of the mass grave and saw him talking to his pack members. It didn't take long for him to look a me, a small smile nicked his lips before he returned to his duties.

I turned, "Yue." My closest Kappa opened her eyes. She laid on the ground, taking in the long awaited rest she sang about.

"Come with me to the town. We need to buy flowers," she stood up. And walked with me back to the compound.

We took our shower outside, washed the dirt off and bathed in the relief the warm water gifted us. "Tinka, was that man your fabled mate?"

I shut off the tap and nodded, "what has he done wrong. You both should be jumping each other's bones."

I rolled my eyes at her words,  "we are not you and Mayank." I started searching for my size in the shift pile. I grabbed a pair of sweats and a vest, I pulled them on.

I bundled my hair on top of my head, and turned to find that Yue was done. We walked to my car, and drove into town. When we reached the gardening shop, i decided to tell her.

"He told me I'm worthy of being Luna." I burst out. I would feel myself getting hot. "Look at me." I gestured to my shoulders.

"He depreciated my worth to just a mate," I felt my features distort into an unpleasant look of disgust. He even pulled that card on me after I showed him my trophies, the brands that grew on my skin everytime the moon recognized my merits.

What a joke!

Yue nodded, "I feel like you should be harder on him. If my mate told me I was worthy of being a Kappa's mate he would forget what sex with me felt like."

I smiled I remembering the last time Mayank told her she was no archer. We all knew this truth but for Yue she wanted him to lie to her and say that she was improving just to smooth her pride. She abstained from all kinds of contact for the longest time. Reminding him time and time again that she was a bad archer.

That time was golden, I looked at the seeds on the shelves. "I think we should do poppies this time." I grabbed them, these ones I chose because it's my last time burying someone on these lands. I grabbed a few packs and threw them into the trolley. I then rolled to the next isle, and took the grown versions.

We watched as the cashier rung us up,"you're really leaving us soon?"

I nodded as they placed the items in the bed of my bakkie, "you and I both knew this day would come. I have no match in the pack."

Yue nodded, "I suppose I thought you would die alone." I quickly turned to look at her.

This woman was all kinds of mad, I sighed and looked back to my flowers. They were finished. I pulled the tarp and covered them before unlocking the vehicle.

We sat inside in silence, I made no move to start the engine. "Do you think I'm only worthy of being his mate?"

Did he expect more of me? I couldn't command armies like he did, like he could. But I have been a leader on those fields, I've done so much to be worthy of being a general on those fields.

Luna... I will take down the woman you stands in he way of my title. I will take her down and wear her bloodied crown on my head.

"I think you are worth more, and I would love nothing but to be led by you as you have led me in this pack." I smiled.

I started driving, we rode over the burial lands and I was quickly engulfed by his scent. I got out of the car, and started to the grave. Linen wrapped bodies started filling in, I watched solemnly.

He stood by my side, I spared him a quick glance before watching the proceedings go on. With every person that went in I felt a pain overcome me. I looked back at my most recent victory mark.

I did good to give it away, this was for nothing. Although it had me feeling like myself again, the price was too high.

Then my Alpha stood at my other side, I could not think I could not breathe is just stood there waiting for lightening to strike me down.

It didn't.

I would look up every now and then and... Nothing. The earth covered them whole and I took it as an excuse to do the rest.

I slipped away and started off loading the flowers, my fellow pack members and his helped. I thanked them and started planting, everyone rested as I filled the ground with seeds and the growing flowers. My heart hurt to do this, my fellow pack members.

I sniffed and patted down the soil around the last plant.

"is she always this emotional?"

I heard my mate ask. I smiled realising that this was the second time he had seen me in this state.

"She feels deeply. Its admirable, as much as she does it never hinders her work."

My alpha said in defence. My smile remained.

I moved back, and made my way back to the men. I kept my head downcast and spoke to them. "Alphas, tomorrow we plan to make the honour boards. I ask that we receive lists of the names of the fallen." I cleared my throat.

This was my last act for the pack. On these lands I would leave a legacy and my family.

I looked up, "can I have them around sunrise?"

"Once we get past the memorials we can work towards deciding my successor."

"Don't you have a relative to succeed you?" I gave a wry smile at his question.

Goodness, I was an only child. And my parents didn't even slow down when after I was conceived.

"Alpha Haydn, they are all in the tomb." I was not bitter about their death, truly. Death is something that I grew up with, what show that I wasn't pleased was that he told me that I was worthy of being his Luna in front of my family.

I turned my attention to my Alpha," sunrise."

I left them, and got into my car and drove back to the compound.

I sighed, a part of me was trying to tell me that he didn't understand. That he didn't know what was spoken amongst the ladies of a pack.

After all even when I heard of if I was struck into stupor.

The respect Luna's earn is nothing but fake, and inherent.

Though many hadn't been known until you were old enough.

The most common thing known about the house of power.

Lunas are born and alphas are hailed.
