Some things the current education system doesn't teach:
How to set and manipulate ones own desires.
How to actively seek knowledge and learn into adulthood and beyond.
Those are basically the core things that children should be gaining.
Instead, children whose brains are riddled by media sway other children into videogame playing media zombies 'because thats whats cool'; shifting focus from useful learnings to being brainwashed into a sheep.
On the academic front, children are forced to learn in ways they dislike, with punishments for failure, until their drive to learn on their own disappears. The education system seeks to accomplish this by the time the children are ready to enter the working world. The media and videogame zombies who no longer actively learn pay a college to Make Them Learn and get the degrees for the niche they will be holding for the human whole. The infinite ladder of consumerism; more and more expensive 'cooler' buyables, along with debt, keeps workers working as the rich get richer. Should a worker have enough wealth that they no longer need to work, or should they retire, they then 'pass the time' until they die; thanks to the initial education system that removed their individual power over their own personal growth and the capitalist culture that profits when people don't determine their own desires.
