"So you mean to tell me you control gravity," the Crime-Lord said, chewing on a chicken bone. Chad lifted up a chicken wing from his plate using gravity, and casually flicked it towards the Crime-Lord, who caught it nonchalantly. "I'll take that as a yes," the Crime-Lord continued.

You must be wondering how one of the most brilliant physicists who now has gravity superpowers ended up serving one of the most dangerous crime lords. That is one interesting story.

"What the hell?" Mike, Chad's best friend, remarked. "You have been doing some hard work, my friend."

"Yeah. I just figured out how to condense light waves so they can hit elementary particles without altering them. We just figured out how to study the Quantum Realm," Chad said as he high-fived with Mike.

"This is great. Hey, do you want to get a drink later tonight to celebrate?"

"Hell yeah!"

"Well, you might want to have that drink now, bud," A new voice entered the room. A man in a hood and mask, obscuring his face, stepped into the room, bringing in an air of menace.

"Who the hell are you?" Mike asked.

"That doesn't matter at the moment. What matters is that I'll be taking your research now," The mysterious man said.

"Oh, hell no this research ain't gonna wind up in the wrong hands, you motherfu-"

The mysterious man pulled out a gun.

"Say one more word and I'll blow your motherf*cking brains out. Now give me. The research."

"No,"

The mysterious man cocked his gun.

"Don't do this, Mike." Chad pleaded.

"Listen to your friend, MIKE." The mysterious man said.

"No."

The mysterious man started to pull the trigger.

"NO!!!" Chad yelled, jumping in front of the line of fire, the bullet colliding with his own stomach instead of Mike's head.

"Huh. Did not expect that." The mysterious man thought out loud. "You've got some serious balls, kid. Tell you what. You and your research come with me, and I leave your friend alone."

"Deal, um..."

"Just call me the Crime Lord."

"Deal," Chad said, handing over the papers.

SNAP!

Chad was snapped out of his flashback by the Crime Lord snapping his fingers in front of his face. Chad jumped up, startled, but now alert.

"Now. As I was saying. I have a mission for you. Someone did some encryption of some of the files you stole the other night."

"It wasn't me, or Mike, I swear."

"I know it wasn't. You two know little to nothing about computers. Point is, however, somebody is trying to sabotage my goal. Some of my friends are working on decrypting this code. What I want you to do, is find the person who did it, find out why, and get any other information you can. Your control over gravity should be very useful as a weapon, a defense, and an interrogation method. I am-"

Time stopped. The crime lord was stuck mid-sentence, and everything else seemed frozen. A purple energy began to glow around the room, and a familiar sentience appeared.

"856507?"

Yes. It is me. Listen to me, I don't have much time. This mission that the crime lord is sending you on? It will not at all be what you expect. Keep me in close contact. Keep me updated on everything, and I mean everything you do concerning that mission. It is very important, and if it is done wrong, the subsequent effects on space-time could be permanently affected. Go on this mission, but do not trust everything the crime lord, or anybody other than me says, AND NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO, DO NOT FOLLOW THE FALSE PATH. GOT IT?"

"Um... I guess so? What is a false pa-"

By then, the sentience had flashed away, and the purple energy had started to fade. Once there was no trace of the purple left, time resumed.

"- counting on you." The crime lord says.

"Sure, um, crime lord," Chad said nervously.

"Call me Seth."
