"Well done, Chad," Seth smiled, before setting down his cup and casually swiveling to look at the man looming over his desk. Chad just stared at him, before chucking down a heap of files.

"These are for how to work the Quantum Batteries," Chad said.

"Very well, you have done your mission well. You have turned this dream of mine, just this theory of reality, into truth," Seth replied, taking the files and leafing through them casually. He turned to look up and grin at Conway, but he was glaring down at Seth expectantly.

"Yes, do you need something?" Seth asked.

"Let Mike go."

"But your work isn't done, you still have to work on the batt-"

"LET. MIKE. GO."

Seth looked at Chad, a glimmer of fear in his eyes, but that fear quickly disappeared. Seth began to chuckle, a silent rumble of audio that evolved in an uproarious laugh.

"You really think I was gonna give away the only thing that will keep you working for me?" Seth laughed.

"I've done all the work here, but you have treated me like dirt. You never even asked me if I wanted to do this. I'm quitting anyway. If I don't get my best friend back,  none of your work will get done." Chad said determinedly.

"And I will still have a ransom. You can walk away from this life of crime anytime you like, Chad, yet we STILL HAVE OUR CLAWS ON YOU." Seth said.

"I'm not going to pay no ransom. I'll get him myself."

"Very well then. But you will always pay, whether in money, time... or in blood."

With a blink of an eye, Seth whipped out a concealed weapon, firing a bullet straight at Chad's forehead. It was stopped with gravity right before it made its collision. Chad focused on the bullet, making it glide into the air over Seth's desk before letting it fall, all its momentum lost, followed by a resounding clink.

"See you later," Chad said as he began to walk away, waving as the Teleporter appeared, whisking them away into the fourth dimension. Suddenly, the gun flew out of Seth's hands, floating in mid air, before being launched back with gravity straight into Seth's forehead. The crime lord groaned in pain before collapsing in his swiveling chair, just lying there for a moment while a soft chuckle played on his lips. Slowly, Seth sat up, then picking up his phone, he called #666.

"Send in the super-soldier."

Suddenly, the door swung open, and a man dressed in dark steel plates stepped forward. The plates interlocked nicely, forming a thick and menacing armor like of a black scaled dragon. Over his head was a black hood, and under it, a mask composed of the same dark steel and glowing blue eyes.

"Ah, the super-soldier. Citizen Identity: Michael Burns, Code Name: The Hyena, Open Log: July 16, 2028. New Mission Request: Kill The Calamity, aka Chad Conway," Seth said.

"Yes sir." The Hyena turned and walked away, ready for its new mission.

Seth laughed. It was cruel enough to brainwash someone's best friend, fill their mind with new memories and personality, and then order them to kill their former best friend. The world was so crazy now.

Who would have thought that a lowly scientist would turn to a life of crime? Who thought that said criminal would somehow gain superpowers? Everything in the universe was just getting crazier, the possibilities so, endless, we can only speculate what was in store for us. After all, the best future we can predict, is just a theory.

A GAME THEORY!!!

Wait. Never mind.

Just a theory.
