Workshop Aquantance

(Just wanted to say thanks to @tailslover100 for the idea and inspiration behind this story!)

Tails thought of the last battle they just had with Eggman. It really did a number on the Tornado. He lifted the hood of the plane to inspect what damage had been done. "Looks like a little valve broke." He said swishing his namesakes behind him. It had been a while after he had seen Sonic now. "Wonder what he is up to?" Tails thought continuing to tighten the valve. He quickly turned some music on and began humming along. He liked this song! He noticed a ray of sunlight shining right into the hood of the vehicle. "How convenient." He said to himself fixing the valve.

Sonic drank his water while looking at the workshop in the distance. "I'm going to see Tails." Sonic thought to himself. "That last battle did quite a bit to the tornado." Sonic ran and walked up the steps of the workshop. The smell of oil and rubber wafting through the air. Sonic actually really like surprising the fox. Tails always seemed to have a cute grin when Sonic stopped by. Sonic peeked inside, observing what the fox was doing. The fox was humming to a little tune, one that stuck out to Sonic as somewhat familiar. He also noticed the fox's adorable tails swishing back in forth behind him happily. Tails had been Sonic's closest friend for a very long time. It was okay to think these things. Sonic noticed the sunlight shining through the window, The little plant sat on the windowsill. "Cosmo." was labeled across the bottom in neat handwriting. It grew peacefully on the windowsill. " Poor Tails." Sonic thought remembering what had happened between Tails and Cosmo. It was a loss Tails took deeply. Sonic knew Tails had feelings for her. Which reminded him of what he had been contemplating a while now. He wasn't sure still how he felt. He couldn't tell a soul.....especially Tails. Sonic began to tiptoe towards the fox slyly.

Tails began to sing softly to the Song. A song he loved deeply. One that spoke to his heart.

"If I could find you know, things would get better. We could leave this town, and run forever. Let your waves crash down on me and take me away, yeah yeah." (Ocean Avenue by Yellowcard.)

Sonic stopped and listened to the fox's angel like voice.Sonic got a warm feeling deep down. He wasn't sure what it was but it made him listen more carefully. Sonic sang to himself quietly remembering each lyric as well as the fox could. "How is my little engineer doing" He said surprising the fox.

"Son-Ow!" Tails said bumping his head on the hood of the tornado.

Sonic walked over and put his hand on the fox's back. "You okay?"

"Yeah." Tails said turning around, his face was all tarnished, and his fur sticking out from the engine electricity.

Sonic smiled and let out a little laugh. "You look like something from a Sci-Fi movie." Sonic licked his finger and began wiping the soot away. The electricity arced to Sonic, Zapping him. "Ow ."he said laughing. "Now this makes me think we have some sort of connection!" Sonic laughed. He looked into the fox's ocean blue eyes. Those sapphires of happiness.

"Mhmm!" Friends and brothers to the end!" Tails hugged the blue hedgehog.

"Yah...friends and brothers to the end." Sonic said enjoying the hug. He picked up the fox swinging him around and laughing He set him down and ruffled the fur on his head. "I...Love you." Sonic realized automatically what he said and tried correcting himself. "Er....I Mean....uh..........."
