Playful Love

Cosmo

"Sonic." Tails laughed. "We have been through this. Of course, you love me. Brothers are allowed to love each other." He smiled.

Sonic sighed. "Tails...." He said teary up. Why was he being so emotional? "It's more than that." The hedgehog finished.

Tails tilted his head. "What do you mean Sonic?"

"I mean Tails,"Sonic said looking up and trying to hide the tears from forming. "I love you more than a brother. I want it to be me and you. Forever. Just let me show you. I promise to care for you, to love you, to hold you close Tails. I don't know if you love me like that back Tails, but give me a chance and I promise I will show you how much love my heart contains for you......" Sonic didn't know what to do at this point. "I'm sorry Tails, I really didn't want this to ruin our friendship......"

Tails smiled, tears formed from the hedgehog's honesty. "Sonic....No one has meant more to me than you. You picked me up from my sad days of being bullied. After all out adventures together, it would be silly for me to turn you down. And I mean nothing, will ruin our friendship. I'll hold to your promise, Sonic. And I want us to be together forever too." Tails hugged the hedgehog compassionately.

Sonic let out a gasp of breath. Tears streaming down his face. "I love you so much Tails. I promise that I will let nothing ever happen to you. Ever." Sonic returned the hug.

Tails peeked at the flower that sat up top of the windowsill, the plant he planted from Cosmo's seed. "Sonic....I need a moment alone." He said.

Sonic followed the fox's gaze. "I understand." Sonic got up and walked outside. He fell to the ground, the conversation had taken all of his energy. He said the one secret that he had told no one.

Tails closed the door but unknowingly left it open a crack. He went up to the Plant. "Hey, Cosmo. It's been two years since you sacrificed yourself.....everyday I think of how things would have been if you were still here." He smiled tears of sorrow forming.

Sonic laid up against the porch stairs. He listened to the conversation. He felt guilty. This wasn't right of him to do this. He wanted to move but....he was so exhausted.

"You said everything that needed to be said between us. And, ever since, I've lived happily. I thought you would like to know.....Sonic just confessed feelings for me. I never thought I would find love after you, Cosmo. Yet know.....here I am. Happier then I have ever been....I'm sure you would be happy for me too." Tears rolled down his face.

Sonic listened. His heart melting at every word. "Thank you Cosmo, I owe you one.." Sonic whispered and looked up at the sky.

'And so, I will continue to care for this plant I made from your seed. I hope it will grow forever, and be as lovely as the love between Sonic and me.....I love you Cosmo...and I really miss you." He kissed the plant and sat on the ground.

Sonic let another tear fall. He loved the fox so much. He would provide love for the fox forever.

Tails sat there, he silently sobbed.

Sonic got up and creaked the door open. Noticing the fox. He put his arms around the fox lovingly.

Tails stood up and hugged the hedgehog. He sobbed loudly into his shoulder. "I miss her so much Sonic."

"I know bud...I know." Sonic looked over at the flower. It's bud as beautiful as the word itself. "Cosmo is still here with us Tails," Sonic said smiling and gesturing towards the flower. "She will always be with us."

'Yes.....as you will always be." Tails kissed him on the lips......
