Cosmo's Blessing

The trees rushed past in a blur. The sun had set allowing the moon to provide light on the ground. A gentle breeze had begun to  blow, ruffling the leaves that rested upon the branches of the trees.  The smell of flowers and the crisp nightly air filling the nostrils of the hedgehog. He kept running, not sure what the fox would think. He hoped Tails would like this just as much as he did. "Make sure to close your eyes," Sonic said lovingly, like a caring mother to a child. He kissed the fox on the forehead.

Tails slowly stopped crying and opened his eyes defiantly. "The stars... he pointed and exclaimed.

Sonic smiled. "You're not supposed to peak."

"But the stars..." He continued pointing. They were moving, creating a shape...

Sonic looked up and smiled, He continued to run until they got into a wide clearing. A hill stood above all else in the middle. Little fireflies danced around and shone their flickering lights. Sonic ran up the hill and gently set the fox on a slab of smooth rock. He sat next to him. "This, Tails, is where I come to sit and think, where I come to ease my mind of things, its also where I come to talk to lost loved ones. Sonic held the fox's hand and pointed towards a cluster of stars. "That's the Orion Belt, and that's Aquarius..." Sonic said smiling. His little secret, this place and the love of the stars. Sonic noticed something funny about the stars.

The stars were moving, forming a shape. Tails recognized it. "C-Cosmo?"

Sonic looked at where the fox was looking and smiled. He was glad the fox finally saw and understood.

The constellation smiled and blew a kiss. A gust of wind blew onto them, cooling them down.

Sonic smiled and winked at the constellation. "Thank you, Cosmo," Sonic said whispering quietly.

"I think she just gave us her blessing." Tails widened his eyes.

"I believe so," Sonic said with a smirk and scooting closer to the fox. "I believe so." He said repeating himself in a faint whisper.

"Whats your secret?" Tails asked, watching as the stars returned to their proper place.

"It's no secret now." He held the fox close watching the stars twinkle in the sky. A little ball of fire shot across the sky. "Make a wish."

"I wish..." He spoke, then thought. "I wish Sonic and I will get married someday, and maybe have kids...however that works."

Sonic thought and spoke. "I wish for me and Tails to grow old together, to get married and have kids, to live life to the fullest, and to love each other for all of eternity." Sonic kissed the fox's cheek.

"I think I know how our story ends."  Tails cuddled up against Sonic.

"How is that?" Sonic said resting his head on the fox.

Tails kissed the hedgehog "...Happily..."
