Minca waited at the restaurant, for Eileen. Eileen never showed up. Minca left after waiting an hour alone. However, her best friend George caught up with her before she left.
"Where you going girl," George said, putting his hands on his hips.
"My date didn't show up," Minca complained. "I hate when they keep me waiting," she sighed, checking her phone again.
"Get yourself together Minnie," George yelled.
"Hey, stop calling me that dude," Minca laughed.
"Ok, let's get you some drinks lady, you look horrible," he shook his head, grabbing her purse.
"What are you talking about," Minca said, giving a cute smile.
"You got that whole 'my date just left me, and I'm dead inside' look," George said, raising his eyebrows.
"Ok, fine," she smiled, walking towards the bar. "I'll have a drink," she smiled. George was the kind of friend that would probably rip someone's spine out if they hurt her. If she was sad, he'd offer her a glass of hot chocolate and a spot on the couch, and they'd play nintendo until their fingers blistered.
"Yaaaas, dats right queen!" he yelled, swinging his hips. Del was dancing on the table. Her hips swinging around, jumping like beans in a tin.
"Yaas girl, shake those hips," George yelled, as Del (who looked more than a little drunk) kicked her shoes off, holding a shot glass. They were all feeding off of the smiles and fast dancing.
"Del?!!" Minca yelled. "Oh my god girl, what're you doing," she laughed.
"Having fun, come on up here and dance with me," Del yelled, as the disco ball above them spun, leaving squares of light scattered everywhere. Del stretched her hand out, and Minca grabbed on, and jumped onto the bar table. They twisted and turned, letting loose, as they swayed, raising their shot glasses. They grabbed onto each others hips, as Del pulled her closer. The music moved her like a puppet on a string. They swung their heads around so violently, you wouldn't believe their heads were okay after that. Minca's phone vibrated in her pocket.
"I-I'm sorry, I have to get this," Minca stuttered backing away from Del. "Oh no, it's my dad," she breathed.
"You should go, I'll keep the party going," George smiled. "I'm sure he's fine, it'll be ok, all right Minnie," he reassured.
"Ok, thanks," Minca stuttered, running off.
