After waiting hours and hours, a doctor finally arrived to talk to her about her father. The hospital smelled like sickness, and chlorine. There was so much noise, you couldn't escape it. No matter where
you went, you could hear crying, screaming, and the occasional smiling. At least that was just the waiting room.

"Ms. Brown?" the doctor called out.

"Yes, it's me. It's me!" Minca yelled.

"My name is Dr. Nellie, follow me please," she said, giving a weak smile. They immediately locked eyes. Minca's heart pounded at her chest. She tried to hold back the tears, but they just kept falling. "It's okay, you'll make it, just come with me," Dr. Nellie reassured. The doctor led her to a room with her father lying on the bed. She immediately sobbed, and cried at his bedside, holding his hands.

"Papa!" she cried. "Why isn't he waking up!" she yelled. Her nose crinkled as she noticed the air was stuffy and had an undertone of bleach.

"That's what I wanted to talk to you about," the Doctor began. "Your father's in a coma," she said, breaking the news.

"What, but I just saw him y-yesterday," she whimpered, her face bright red, stung by tears.

"He lost some brain function, and I don't think we can get it back," Dr. Nellie gulped, trying to break it to her gently. "IF he wakes up, he'll be deaf, and paralyzed," she sighed, shaking her head.

"B-but he's alive," Minca cried. "But he's alive!" she screamed, confused.

"That depends on how you define alive," Dr. Nellie said, looking down at the floor.

"So you can't get him back," Minca sobbed, staring at her father's peaceful, and closed eyes, through her foggy vision.

"If and when he wakes up, my superior and I can attempt to recover brain function," she smiled, trying not to get her expectations too high.

"Oh thank you!" she cried out, hugging her.

"But only if he wakes up," Dr. Nellie grinned, as they held each other tight.

"Still, thank you" Minca began. "I believe he will make it," Minca said, giving a slow smile. "You look like a great doctor," she winked.

"Thanks," Nellie blushed, twirling her hair.

"I know you'll be able to save my father," she smiled, stepping closer towards her.

"I'll do my best," she awkwardly smiled. Their bodies were close. It started to get hard to breath. Minca stared into her golden brown eyes, as Nellie looked at her lush lips as if they were magnets. Nellie pondered how wrong this was. I mean a PATIENT. But before she could think any further, Minca grabbed the collar of her shirt, pulled her closer, and velcroed her lips onto hers. Minca's warm lips kept Nellie from pulling away. Nellie dragged her hand down Minca's back, and, as they fell deeper into the kiss.
