thirty-three

it is jihoon's second time going into pledis's building. it was not as nerve-wracking as before but he definitely still feels a little nervous. he walks in and greets the lady who was sitting on a chair beside the door with a smile, he bows and continues his way to find the recording room.

he was holding a little gift for seungcheol but he isn't sure that seungcheol will like it or not. jihoon thinks that he seemed mad at him just now. i didn't do anything bad did i?

'woozi! we meet again,' their manager says with a grin before opening the door for him to enter, 'i've heard the demo and it sounds amazing.' he adds, his grin growing wider than before. jihoon didn't know how to respond so he just nods and mumbles a thank you.

when he goes into the recording room he can already see the members from performance team with seungcheol and jeonghan, sitting together and chatting with smiles on their face.

jihoon stood there for a merely a second before they all turn their heads to stare at him, all of their faces lit up as they walk over to greet him, except for jeonghan of course as jihoon figured that he probably did not like him that much. surprisingly, seungcheol just continues to sit there with jeonghan, not sparing him even a small glance.

what is wrong with him... jihoon thinks as he returns a greeting to all of them. after having small talks about the song with the few members that greeted him, he makes his way to seungcheol and jeonghan. jeonghan sees him and, in just one second, conceals his look of disgust with a fake smile before getting up to leave. jihoon doesn't know what is wrong with jeonghan either.

seungcheol continues to sit there and scroll through his phone, not minding jihoon who was standing at the side. jihoon fakes a cough to get his attention, 'oh, hi jihoon.'

'hi... i uhh... g-got a gift for you...?' jihoon says, but it came out as a question more than a statement. he holds his gift out for seungcheol. it was a little cactus plant with the pot painted by non other than himself, he spent a few hours trying to decorate it. 'i-it's a thank you gift for helping me with the lyrics.'

'thanks jihoon,' he accepts the gift with a straight face and sets it on the table gently, 'guys i think we should start the recording now,' he says to the other members and walks out of the room.

jihoon feels his stomach clenching up in confusement and slight anger but he tries to push it off and continue with the recording.
