"Get up! Hands above your head, don't try anything!"

I shot up out of my bed, startled as men ran into my room, aiming guns at me and barking orders. Blinking rapidly, I woke up out of my drowsy state, growling at the men covered in black bullet guards.

"Careful where you point that gun." I snarled at the nearest man, baring my teeth. He laughed coldly, inching closer as if he was unafraid of my threat. 'What a fool.'

"What're you going to do, girlie?" He snarled back, his voice deep and thick with a New York accent. 'Oh no he didn't.' Anger coursed through me as I devised a plan to punish this fool. As soon as he was within arms range I lashed out, calling upon my tendrils to wrap around him and strangle the idiot for being so foolish. Nothing happened, no tendrils curling out of me or wrapping around the men, just angry silence. 'What?' I called upon my tendrils again, this time also calling out to Silver. 'Uh, a little help here?' A few moments passed before she responded, sounding quiet and far away.

'That chip... it must be dulling your powers somehow, I can barely hear you.' I froze, my hand twitching to the titanium chip lodged in my neck, fury and shock striking through me like lightning.

"What?" I hissed softly out loud, causing the men to glance at each other in confusion. My clenched fists shook with anger, and red threatened to fill my vision as I realized what Evan and his 'family' did to me. 'I'll make sure to give him a piece of my mind once I see that prick, but for now, I'll have to deal with these idiots the hard way.' Like a cobra I lashed out at the man with the accent, surprising him and ripping the gun out of his grip, hitting him over the head with it, causing him to crumble to the ground limply. All while I did this the other two men watched dumbly, one even had the mind set to blink stupidly. In a few seconds I had them both on the ground also, having knocked them out like their companion.

"That was easy." I praised, loading the rifle and stepping out the cell door.

Zap!

I collapsed onto the ground in pain, clutching my neck as a painful shock spread through me, black dots floating in my vision.

"You're right David, she is a fighter. I'm surprised she got past your men that quick." A professional female voice came from above me, along with the soft clicking of high heels as she approached. I struggled to get up off the cold metal tile, groaning softly as my limbs ached in pain.

"Just because she's a 'good' fighter doesn't mean I want to do this." A gruff, rumbling voice complained, and I could almost sense the disapproving frown on his face as Stone crossed his arms and looked down at me. I forced a smirk, shaking off the pain in my limbs and standing up.

"Aw, if you think I'm a good fighter, maybe you could learn a thing or two." I teased, causing Stones face to go red as he strained himself from not lunging at me. The women next to him threw her head back and laughed at Stones anger, catching my attention. She was clearly older than me, about thirty five, with long blonde hair pulled into a pony tail running down her white lab coat. Her skin was tan and fair, with dimples on her cheeks and slight creases on her eyes as she grinned up at Stone who stood sputtering next to her. Her warm green eyes seemed to shine in motherly kindness and compassion, reminding me of my own mother from the fleeting moments I saw her when I was younger. The woman seemed to notice me staring and smiled warmly, holding out her hand.

"Hello Miss Willow, I'm Doctor May Grange, and I'll be studying you as well as your classmates during your training." She introduced, still smiling. I took her hand, confused. 'Training?'

"And I'll be your guard, just in case you decide to pull another one of your stunts." Stone growled, glaring daggers at me.

"Oh you know you loved it." I shot back, sticking out my tongue like a toddler.

"This is the exact reason why I don't want her doing this." Stone grumbled, crossing his arms across his broad chest. Dr. Grange shot him a look like 'we've-talked-about-this-before-and-it's-happening', frowning in disagreement. Before she could start I stopped her, waving my hands in the air.

"Woah, woah, woah, slow down. This? Training? Why am I even allowed out of my cell without a full army following me?" I protested, putting my hands on my hips like my mom would whenever she wanted an answer from me after doing something wrong. Stone chuckled, beginning to walk with Dr. Grange down the hallway.

"You overestimate yourself, Silver, everyone has a weakness—"

"—In which this is why we're having you do this." Dr. Grange interrupted, giving Stone a pointed glare.

"You're signing me up for... training?" I asked hesitantly. Dr. Grange nodded, giving me another smile. 'Ok Miss Smiles A Lot, tone it down a bit.' Her bright mood seemed to affect me, seeping into my bones and I had to prevent myself from smiling back. We neared a large metal door, large booms coming from the other side. Dr. Grange and Stone stopped about a foot in front of the door, causing me to skid to a stop beside them.

"Oh, and by the way," Dr. Grange turned towards me, blonde hair whipping in her ponytail. I turned towards her, head tilted in question. 'What else does she need to tell me, watch out for the robot sharks?' "You'll be working with other people, ones like you."
