Not a single day had passed without Jennie thinking who killed Chaeyoung. All she could remember was the woman's icy blue eyes and an unusual number of tails behind her. Hundreds of years had passed and the tale about the nine-tailed fox woman or a creature called a gumiho became famous for scaring married men saying that the gumiho would lure them and when they're finally under her gorgeous spell, she would eat their liver.

Jennie got interested in the tale but people would only laugh at her because they would tell her it was just a tale and it wasn't true. Even if she told them that the tale was true and encountered one, they still wouldn't believe her because of a lack of evidence to show. But Jennie was a hundred percent sure that the gumiho was true as she did see one.

Ever since then, she had been living alone. Not interacting with humans unless needed or necessary. Jennie had no friends for a long time and had been living her entire life looking for the gumiho she despise. As time passed by, she noticed her senses were getting much stronger than usual. She was thankful because it might help her find the gumiho easily.

Jennie loved taking a walk in the middle of the night where the whole town was asleep and only a few numbers of people could be seen around. And when she was having her walk, she heard and saw something in her peripheral vision move in the woods. Jennie first looked around her if anyone were people around and when she found no one, she quickly ran into the woods where she heard the faint noise. She hid behind the big tree when she finally saw what she had been looking for. There were two people, both of them were women. The one with porcelain skin, tall, and brown, silky hair got Jennie's attention. Jennie sighed and shook her head when she felt that the two were just going to make out so she turned her heels around to start walking away quietly. But she got alarmed when she heard the other woman scream in pain. Jennie went back to her old position to quietly watch what was happening. Her eyes widened in shock when she saw that the woman who first caught her attention had blood all over her hands, the other woman lying on the ground, slowly catching her breath. The woman with porcelain skin was doing something unusual with the other's stomach. Jennie finally had an idea of what was happening.

She finally found the gumiho.

Jennie felt angry and she clenched her fist tightly and almost shaking. Everything flashed back into her mind and that's when she lost her temper. Jennie moved in a quick motion and locked the gumiho's head with her arms. Surprisingly, the gumiho was strong but Jennie didn't let the gumiho free that easily. The gumiho let out her familiar sinister laugh which made Jennie angrier.

"I remember you." The gumiho said.

"Likewise." Jennie gritted.

"So much bitterness, aren't we? That's just how life works, humans die. It's every human's fate anyway."

"You don't decide when they should die."

"You know I can kill you as well, right? I can rip your head in a split second."

"And you think I can't do that to you?"

"I haven't met anyone as entertaining as you." The gumiho elbowed Jennie, catching her off guard and she flew across the woods as her back crashed against a tree, almost breaking it in half. The gumiho walked closer to Jennie as she massaged her neck from Jennie's grip. "You think you can beat me, monster?" The gumiho smirked.

"You are the monster here." Jennie stood up, dusting off her clothes.

Jennie saw the gumiho's blue bead-like necklace and she once read that if you took their necklace they would be less powerful. But with the full moon, the gumiho would be as powerful without their necklace. The necklace was important to them for them to be in control if it was a full moon. Jennie had planned to take the necklace off of the gumiho's neck. But how? They were both as fast as each other.

Jennie took a sharp breath in before walking slowly to the gumiho.

"You're actually pretty famous with your doing." Jennie said and stopped in her tracks when she was face to face with the creature.

"Yeah. It's actually kind of funny." The gumiho smirked. "I bet you're the one who created the so-called tale about me."

"Oh please, I would've done it better if I was actually the one who did it." Jennie retorted. "And also..." Jennie brought her face closer to the gumiho and the latter just raised an eyebrow. "Sorry, not sorry." Jennie smirked and quickly pulled the necklace off of her neck and fled as quickly as possible.

When Jennie was finally away from her, she looked at the necklace as she triumphantly smiled, putting it securely in her pocket. Jennie looked up at the sky as she sighed.

"Don't worry, Chaeyoung. I will avenge you." Jennie said out loud.

Vampires don't really sleep but in Jennie's case, sleeping was her escape from reality. She liked it because it relaxed her and sometimes help her with her hunger (or thirst in her case).

When not reading a book about the gumiho, she would just close her eyes. When she was resting, she heard something move around her house and she flung her eyes open as she cautiously observed her surroundings.

"I know there's someone here. Show yourself." Jennie said. As if it was already a habit, she securely put her hand in her pocket where the necklace was placed. She slowly stood up and waited for whoever invaded her home. "I won't call the police, just show yourself and I will let you go." Jennie assured.

Moments later, Jennie heard a sigh and a woman in a plain white dress showed up from where she was hiding. It was the gumiho. Her hands were formed into a fist, glaring at her.

"Ah, it's just you. I see." Jennie said as she smirked.

"Give me back my necklace!" The gumiho yelled and tackled Jennie. But she was too slow for Jennie and she ended up being held by her with her hands behind her back.

"I will if you can bring back the love of my life!"

"Are you dumb? I'm not a god!"

Jennie couldn't help her tears as she began to remember Chaeyoung. She let go of the gumiho and sat on the floor, hugging her legs as her tears continued to roll down her face.

"This is all your fault!" Jennie yelled at the creature.

The gumiho was shocked by what she was seeing. She hadn't seen anyone this emotional.

"I—"

"Don't you even use 'it's their fate' on me, you're ruthless!" Jennie stood up and dragged the gumiho by the arm to the door and basically throwing her out of her house. "You will never get your necklace back as long as I live." Jennie coldly said but full of anger in her voice and shut the door.
