Walking home was never a problem for Adeline. In fact, it was very calming and gave her time to think. But every since the Black Hood shot Fred Andrews, she didn't feel safe. At this very moment, she felt as though someone was watching her.

Adeline quickened her pace and gripped her book. In the corner of her eye she saw something rustle in a bush. Nope, nope. I am not going to do the dumb girl move and get murdered.

She almost began to run when she felt a hand on her shoulder. Adeline quickly turned and hit the stranger with her book. "Ow, Adeline.." The stranger groaned.

She stopped her assault on the person when they yelled her name. She saw the person she had hit was Sweet Pea. And behind him was Toni and Fangs, who looked like they were holding in their laughter.

"Oh, my god Sweet Pea, I'm so sorry! I didn't know it was you!" Adeline gasped. Sweet Pea winced when he rubbed his head,"No, it's fine Adeline. I probably shouldn't have done that."

"You're damn right you shouldn't have done that! You gave me a freaking heart attack." Adeline chuckled. Sweet Pea gave her the tiniest of smiles when he heard her laugh. He just met this girl and he was already wrapped around her finger.

The pink haired girl spoke up behind him,"You looked spooked back there, everything alright?" Toni looked like she was concerned for the blue eyed girl. Adeline shifted,"Yeah, I just thought I saw something." She looked back at the bush that was rustling before. It was probably just an animal or something.

"Well, we could give you a ride home if you want." Fangs offered with a smile. That was when she saw their bikes. Adeline was too wrapped up in her thoughts to hear the roar of the bikes. She quickly nodded,"Please." The Serpents got on their bikes and Adeline put her books into her bag.

She was about to ask who she was going to ride with but a voice cut her off,"You're riding with me." She looked over at Sweet Pea who was holding his helmet out for her. She put the helmet on and got on the bike with the help of Sweet Pea. "Wrap your arms around me." He said. Adeline wrapped her arms around him and gripped him tight when he started the bike.

After riding for a few minutes, they were nearing her house. Adeline patted Sweet Pea's shoulder and pointed at it.

Her neighbors looked out their windows and gave the Serpents dirty looks. Adeline flashed a grin at them and hopped off the bike. She took off the helmet and tried to fix her hair. It was sticking up and had a few knots in it.

"Thank you for dropping me home." Adeline said as she gave Sweet Pea his helmet. He licked his lips and whispered,"No problem, Angel Eyes." She internally squealed when he said that. Just the way he said it made her melt on the inside.

She spun on her heel and began walking towards her porch. When they started their engines she waved at them and walked into her house.

"Dad, you home?" She asked when she entered. His car was in the drive way and assumed he was here. Once she heard things fall she ran into the kitchen. When she entered, she saw the table full of food which made her mouth water.

Her father picked up the pan he had dropped,"I guess I have to wash that again," he muttered as he saw dirt on the wet pan.

"Here, I'll wash it," Adeline took the pan from his hands and began to wash it. Her father sighed and kissed her forehead,"What would I do without my best girl?"

Adeline smiled sadly, knowing that her father was thinking of the woman he loved. "I miss her Dad," she said as she wiped her hands and hugged her father.

Seven years ago, William Hart moved to Riverdale a few months after the traumatizing incident. He couldn't stand to live in a house full of memories, so he took Adeline and left. Years later, the subject about the incident was still sore and the remaining Hart members tried their best to explain where Adeline's mother was without bursting into tears.

After almost a year in Riverdale, Will decided it would be a good idea to open a bakery. It was his wife's dream to open one but she never had the chance to. He thought it was a good way of coping with the losses. William named the bakery 'Little Hart's Bakery'. He had Adeline work in the bakery whenever she could and she was delighted to do so every time.

"I grabbed your favorites from the bakery," Will pointed at the plastic bag on the table. Adeline let out an excited squeal and pulled out a crescent stuffed with Nutella and a slice of cheesecake.

She looked at her father in confusion,"Wait, since you're home early, who's at the shop?"

Will rubbed his tired eyes,"I asked Elliana to lock up and she should be leaving in about fifteen minutes."

The Hart girl wiggled her eyebrows at her father,"Elliana, huh?" Elliana Dixon is woman who lives on the south side and is about three years younger than William. She worked in the bakery once it opened and since then, Adeline saw a few things going on between the two adults. It was complete fluff and she thought they were the cutest.

"You know, you should invite her over for dinner."

William raised an eyebrow at his daughter,"Eat your dinner." And proceeded to throw a couple noodles at her.
