Jisoo's Pov

I was a bit anxious. Of course, Kim Taehyung is going to step ahead and become the CEO. His mother is going to look down upon me again and insult my mother. I can't help that she's a mean woman. Minutes later, I saw dad walking down the stairs with his wife. I won't call her 'mom', duh. My dad has a very friendly and innocent face but it's all a facade. He's actually a manipulative and sly person, that's how he got 2 wives fighting for him, before.

I could see Jessica roam her eyes around trying to look for someone and when she met my eyes, she could only smirk at me. She thought that I would look away but I held my glance and looked at her fiercely. I am not letting her step on me ever again. I could see she was taken aback, nonetheless she just rolled her eyes on me.

"Good Evening, ladies and gentlemen. I am here to present you a new CEO to lead KTS Incorporated. Let us all welcome, Kim Taehyung!" My father said and Taehyung walked up the stage with a slight smile. His mother was so proud of him and gave him a hug. The scene crushed me a bit, since it seems like I was the bastard child because I couldn't join them.

Of course, after the traditional receiving ceremony, the party had started. I busied myself with red wine and attempted to be alone, ignoring the fact that my ex boyfriend is even here. What can I do? My heart hurts whenever I see him. However, since fate likes to make me suffer, Taehyung's mother approached me.

"You are just a useless girl, after all. My son beat you again this time." She mocked me while smirking.

"Believe what you want to believe, Jessica. I don't want to take over KTS anyways. I have my own successful company and I think that's enough. Pray to God for thanks that I am not greedy." I told her and again, she was a bit surprised. Maybe if I'm not heartbroken, I would be quivering in fear now.

"So that's how Dara raised you, no wonder she ceased to exist. Good people die first in this world after all." She said and anyone please help me calm down before I push this b*tch off the balcony. I noticed that my father was getting interested at our bickering since he came near to eavesdrop. Huh, perfect time to reveal the truth then.

"My mother won't naturally cease to exist without someone killing her. You planned all of this, didn't you? My mother died with symptoms similar to choking and it seemed like she just dropped dead." I said and my father came near us and Jessica didn't notice him.

"I swear that she died of natural cause." She insisted.

"The police did their investigation but they found nothing, so they dropped the case. I NEVER gave up and did my research. At my mother's garden, I found a poisonous flower 'Ultimum Viaticum' or they often called as the 'Last Journey'. The pollens has toxins that provoke hallucinations, headaches, blurred speech and mother failed to ask for help. The toxins constricted the lungs and my mother died by asphyxiation. It's your entire fault!" I said with anger on my voice. I could see that Jessica was shocked since she could not deny anything.

"Jessica," My father said, who has been silent the whole time. "I'm so disappointed." He continued while looking at Jessica with cold eyes.

"It's not true Seunghyun. I could never do that!" She tried to deny but my father shook his head.

"Go home and pack all your belongings. Never show up in front of my face ever again, and do not contact me, most especially Taehyung. Leave the mansion and if you are not gone before dawn, I will let the guards drag you to the streets." He said and Jessica stomped her feet in anger. She knew that she can't make dad change his mind.

"I'm quite surprised you didn't call the cops to arrest her, dad." I commented after Jessica left. He set down his walking cane and stood by me.

"She will get the karma that she deserves, someday. And why didn't you tell me before? You had suffered from all her doing." He replied and took a sip of his wine.

"Even I told you, what can you do? It's not like you can bring her back from the dead. You were so angry at that time dad, you didn't have a clear mind. Even if Jessica killed my mother, it doesn't mean that she should die of the same fate." I said and smiled.

"You are a kind girl, my dear. However, I will be taking my leave since I am an old man already and I get tired easily." He said and left me too. I twirled the wine glass on my hands and took a deep breath. I felt my vision get blurred as tears streamed down my cheeks.

Why is my world so harsh on me? Why do the ones I love keep hurting me? I felt the painful tug on my heart because of the unfortunate events I experienced. I wonder why I am still strong despite my struggles? And sometimes, I get the urge to just cut open my wrist and die but no, that's being selfish, that's stupid. Suicide won't end the pain I'm experiencing; it will just pass it on to someone else.

"Are you okay?" I heard a voice behind me and I immediately wiped my tears before facing him. Oh great, it's Byun Baekhyun.

"I'm not but I will be." I answered.

"Huh, most girls would deny and say they're fine. I like your honesty." He said while eyeing my wine glass.

"Whatever you say. Besides, we're not even that close for you to leave the dance floor and console me." I said and huffed in irritation. I was enjoying my silent time, thank you!

"Hmm, are we not?" He said and took a step closer. Upon instinct, I backed up until I met the end of the wall. His dark, menacing eyes were piercing right through mine making me gulp.

A/N: Okay, I guess I have been playing Criminal Case for so long. Anyways, I wonder why this story is getting darker? Maybe I am not yet over my writing style over the previous book I had wrote [Lisa x Sehun].

Q: Is the Black Concept good for Book 2? Answer me please.....
