eight; i can draw girl on girl fanart very well

michael
i sat nervously in the chemistry room, fiddling with my hoodie hem. i waited for at least fifteen minutes, anxiously watching for any sign of my tutor. professor gomez had left not long before, telling me she had to pick up her sick child from kindergarten. so i was completely alone and completely irritated that i was already wasting precious time of my weekend.
finally the door opened. i kept my head down, eyes glued to my phone screen, leafing through a digital comic book that i liked. someone in the doorway cleared their throat, and i glanced up.
"michael?"
my eyes widened when i saw luke standing there, looking equally surprised at the sight of me. his lips were red and swollen, his hair pulled in every direction, and a button missing from his shirt. i looked at him nervously, mentally putting together the reason he was late.
"um, sorry i'm late, my girlfriend...took up some of my time," he smiled as if to apologize and then sat down next to me. "but we can start now."
i nodded simply, mortified at the mere thought of luke hooking up with another person. "so what is particularly hard for you?" luke asked, observing the sheet i handed him. it read denomination of salts and molecules. "okay, this is easy," luke murmured.
i blushed, already feeling like an idiot. "first of all, do you know the difference between salts and molecules?" he asked, leaning particularly close to my face as he spoke.
i said nothing, feeling the heat grow on my cheeks. luke frowned and his eyebrows creased in an adorable way. "hey, why don't you want to talk to me?" he asked in a kinder tone.
playing with my fingers, i said nothing again, refusing to look at him. luke sighed, moving forward and bending down to look me in the face. "i don't bite, you know."
i smiled a little, shaking my head a little. "okay, let's get to know each other, then," luke decided, sitting back in his chair. "so maybe this whole tutoring thing feels more comfortable."
"okay," i whispered, and luke's eyes lit up like a christmas tree.
"okay, okay, great," he said, obviously excited by the small progress he already made. i really didn't want to talk to luke, but i also didn't want to be uncooperative. "favorite animal?"
"panda." i answered easily.
"talents?"
"i can draw girl on girl fanart very well, especially princess bubblegum and marceline," i said without thinking, and then wanted to slap myself. luke just stared at me in confusion.
"what is-"
"you don't want to know," i immediately shut his question down, smiling innocently.
"um, okay. best and worst subjects?" luke changed the topic.
"my best subject is probably french, worst is world history. or maybe chemistry, since we're here now. or maybe gym because i'm a potato," i answered quietly, surprisingly both luke and myself for speaking so much at once.
i blushed as luke used his tongue to play with the little ring on his lip. "a potato?" he laughed, looking at me from top to bottom. i wiggled around in my seat uncomfortably. "you look fit to me. when do you have gym?"
"fourth period."
"i have free period then!" he smiled. "i could come see you sometime."
my eyes widened in alarm. "oh god, please no."
"oh come on, i'm sure you look cute in the uniform," he winked, nudging me in the ribs.
"i'm pathetic."
"i'm sure that's not true."
"it is. i'm a loser," i told him. luke frowned despite my light tone.
"hey, don't call yourself a loser. you're a winner in my heart, bud," he ruffled my hair, before returning to the chemistry problems.
"but luke, i'm really a-"
"winner," he interrupted with a smile. "now, back to salts and molecules. the salts are made of ionic bonds, and molecules are made from covalent ones..."
