"michael, are you listening to me?"

i detached my head from luke's shoulder, rubbing at my tired eyes. "yep," i murmured, though it was pretty obvious i hadn't heard anything.

"so, what would the name of the Sb2Br8 formula be?" he tested me, smiling slyly as i stared blankly at my notes.

"um...lead bromine?" i tried, waiting for luke's reaction.

luke only sighed, shaking his head. "first of all, the symbol of lead is Pb. Sb is antimony, and both bromine and antimony are non-metals. so what are they?"

"molecules?"

"yes, right!" luke rejoiced, seemingly relieved that i retained at least some of the information he gave me in the past hour. "you should use prefixes."

"i don't know the prefixes, luke."

"okay, so just try to memorize them for our next session, yeah?" he said, making me smile a bit. "so what molecule could it be?"

"dilead octabromine," i answered confidently, but immediately grimaced when i saw luke's disappointment.

"michael, i just said that Sb is antimony."

"oh fuck, you're right," i frowned. "i'll never understand these things."

"don't be discouraged, mate," luke hit my shoulder. "you'll get it sooner or later."

mate, i repeated in my head. he sounded like an older brother or something. which then lead me to various disturbing mental images of incest.

"michael?" luke snapped me out of my disgusting thoughts. "you okay?"

"uh...yeah, peachy," i smiled innocently. "are we done?" i asked, just wanting it all to end.

luke frowned but checked the time on his phone. "uh, yeah. you can go."

"good," i sighed, packing up my things happily.

"um, do you think we should exchange phone numbers?" luke asked, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly. "you know, in case you have any questions."

"o-okay," i almost squeaked, willingly putting my phone in luke's hand. i prayed he wouldn't notice the star wars phone case.

i added my number to luke's phone and added a moon emoji next to my name before returning it. "cool," luke grinned. "so i'll see you monday?"

i nodded shyly, giving him a small wave as i turned to leave.

though i didn't miss the wink he gave me before i closed the door.
