Adam and Haley have been best friends since practically birth. It all started when the two met when they were 3 years old in pre-school in their hometown of Watkinsville,  Georgia. The two quickly became friends and the friendship has only gotten stronger through the years.

Haley has been by Adam's side through everything. She was there for him when he got the phone call from the Pittsburgh Pirates front office, informing him that he had been drafted in the 6th round back in 2013. She was there for him all throughout his years in the minors, constantly visiting him.

She was there for him when he made his major league debut on June 24, 2016. She sat alongside his family and cheered for him when he got his first Major League hit in his first Major League game.

Two years later, and Haley now lives with Adam in Pittsburgh during the season as she is working on her PhD at University of Pittsburgh. The two are still the best of friends, even though Haley has fallen in love with Adam.

Her feelings started turning romantic a few months after she moved in with him and realized that she saw him as more than just a friend. She was head over heels in love with him but she felt like he didn't feel the same, so she never made her feelings known. She just hope and prayed that one day he would reciprocate her feelings.

Currently, Adam has been on a long west coast trip, where he has played the Dodgers, Padres, and the Giants teams. Haley has definitely missed his presence but has busied herself with her internship and her job, though she ached for Adam's presence.

Luckily, he comes home after 2 weeks of being on the road. They spend the entire day off that he has after the travel day, watching movies and shooting the shit with each other. The following day is his first home game since the road trip and it happens to be an off-day for Haley.

She heads to the ballpark with him and she hangs out with WAGs the players. She sits in her usual seat and cheers her favorite boys on when the game starts. The game ends with the Pirates beating the Cubs winning 5-3. Adam hits a home run in the game and after the game, Adam gets pulled away for a post game interview. The reporter asks him the standard questions that all sideline reporters do and Adam answers them all in the way he was trained to do so.

Haley watches the the interview from her spot near the dugout and she heads down to the field level with her access pass.

"Can I just say something real quick?" Adam asks, catching the report by surprise.

"Of course," the reporter smiles, taken back by the unusual request.

Adam is handed the microphone and he motions for Haley to come to him.

"Haley, you've been by my side since we were toddlers back in Georgia. You're the PB to my J and the ying to my yang. I don't know what I would do without you. I'm so glad I have you as a best friend, a roommate, and most importantly as the woman I've managed to fall for. Haley, will you go out on a date with me sometime?" he asks, causing the crowd at PNC Park to cheer.

Her mouth drops in shock at the fact the man she is head over heels in love with just confessed his feelings for her on television and to the entire stadium.

"Yes," she finally replies, not believing if this is all real.

Adam smiles and mentally fistpumps the air. He hands the reporter back the mic and the reporter congratulates him on the great game. He walks back towards the dugout with Haley right beside him, the two holding hands the entire way.

"Why didn't you ever tell me you liked me?" Haley asks him as they make their way down the steps to the clubhouse.

"I didn't think you felt the same way until the entire team and all the WAGs told me that you loved me and that I was an idiot for thinking you didn't feel the same," he explains, causing her to blush.

"Wow, I can't believe everyone knew about my feelings for you. Clearly, I wasn't subtle about it at all," she replies in embarrassment.

"I can't believe I was too oblivious to not see that you felt the same," he replies back, feeling embarrassed as well.

"Well, all that matters is that you're taking me out on a hot date right?" she teases.

"The hottest," he replies, being the absolute dork that he is.

"You're such a dork, Frazier," she giggles, bumping his shoulder.

"You love it though," he bites back playfully.

"I really do," she replies truthfully, kissing his cheek.

It took a long time but both Adam and Haley were finally glad that they were able to get their shit together and admit their feelings to each other.
