Chapter 22:Kaito and Zodiac Academy

So now that we got to see what Haru and Hakuoh girls are like, let's take a trip to Zodiac Academy and see how Kaito's school life is like!
Kaito woke up and sprung out of bed in order to get ready for the day, brushed his hair and teeth. After breakfast Kaito grabbed his reading glasses and school bag and headed out the door; on his way to the school's front gate he ran into his friend Itsuki. "Morning Kaito! You ready for another day of those girls watching us like criminals?" Itsuki asked as he slowly walked with the medic. "Oh Itsuki you take things to personally! The girls just need time to warm up to us that's all! Stop being such a downer!" Kaito said in his normal cheery voice as they continued to walk. "I swear one of these days that positive attitude of yours is going to fail you. And I don't care what you say those Tengu girls have it out to get me! Can't go anywhere without one of them spying on me!" Itsuki said in annoyance as the two friends continued to make there way to school.
                     Kaito had parted ways with Itsuki as he continued to make his way to the front of the school. Kaito was lost in his thoughts that he didn't notice he was about to walk into someone. "He watch where you're going you dumbass!" A girl with curly grey hair shouted at Kaito. "Oh terribly sorry Ginrei! I wasn't paying attention!" Kaito said as he bowed to the Shinobi girl before continuing to make his way down the hall. What Kaito didn't notice was that Ginrei had a light blush spread across her face from the contact she had made with him. "Stupid! Why did you call him a dumbass?" Ginrei scolded herself as she continued on her way to the front of the school.
Tenma and the four team leaders made their way to the front of Zodiac Academy where they were greeted by the Shinobi team of the academy.

The one with long blonde hair walked up to Tenma and extended her hand. "Hello I am Leo the leader of Zodiac Academy's Shinobi team leader." Leo introduced herself as Tenma shook her hand. The girl with grey hair approached him with a look of disgust on her face. "I am Ginrei and you had no right to touch lady Leo! Why are you even here?" Ginrei asked in disgust. "Well I am the Shinobi Warlord of Thunder so I thought my presence was required?" Tenma said like he was asking a question. Ginrei instantly had a look of fear and embarrassment on her face. "I-I'm so sorry I had no idea! If I had known I" Tenma cut her off. He pulled Ginrei into a hug. "That's okay Ginrei! No hard feelings okay!" Tenma said as Ginrei walked back to her group.
A girl with short tan hair approached Tenma next with a small smile on her face. "Hello I am Kurohoro it's nice to meet you Tenma!" Kurohoro said as she hugged Tenma. The next girl had short dark brown hair. "Hello I'm Syuri! It's nice to finally meet you!" Syuri said as she shook hands with Tenma. The last girl had long brown hair that ended in curls. "Hi I'm Aimu! It's so nice to meet the boyfriend of Hanzo Ultimate!" She said as she gave Tenma a almost bone crushing hug. With that they began to make their way into school. Although once they entered Ginrei stopped him.
"Sorry it's just that we" Tenma stopped her mid sentence by raising his hand. "Let my guess girl talk?" Tenma said as Ginrei nodded meekly. "That's cool I'll just wonder around and if you need me have one of the girls text me okay?" Tenma said as he walked off down the hall leaving the girls to themselves. After Tenma left the girls made their way to the meeting room where they sat down and got comfortable. "So how about you tell us about this gentleman of a boyfriend you have? After all we've been dying to know how it went! And from what I've seen he seems incredibly polite!" Leo said as the girls shot into explaining how each of their dates with Tenma went.
           Tenma walked through the halls of the school as he looked around for something to do, suddenly he looked through a window which seemed to hold a library on the other side. What really caught Tenma's was the grey haired boy with reading glasses and about ten books stacked next to him on the table. Tenma entered the library and sat down next to Kaito with a smile on his face. "So Doctor how goes the reading?" Tenma asked Kaito using his nickname. "Oh you know the same as always Sparky!" Kaito responded using Tenma's nickname. The two friends laughed as they started to talk about their lives. "So how is it have twenty girlfriends?" Kaito asked as he looked over at Tenma.
"If I'm totally honest I couldn't ask for a better relationship! After all they all care about me and worry about my well being!" Tenma said with a light blush on his face. Kaito smiles at his friend happy for him to be in such a good place right now. "Well I'm glad that it's not just me and the guys looking out for you!" Kaito said as he patted his friend on the back. "I don't need a freakin babysitter!" Tenma said as he punched Kaito in the arm. "Yeah keep telling yourself that!" Kaito said in a playful voice as he punched Tenma back. "So what do you think of the Zodiac girls?" Tenma asked Kaito as pondered the question for a while.
                      "Well I think they are both strong and beautiful! But I don't think they like me much, which is a shame because I would love to be friends with them!" Kaito said as he scratched the back of his head. "Okay so they give you a hard time?" Tenma asked as he looked at his friend with worry, Kaito has low self esteem. "It's fine! After all aside from you, Haru, and Itsuki I have no friends!" Kaito said as his normal happy demeanor changed to depressed in a heartbeat. "Hey don't be like that! Your Kaito Amano! They youngest professional doctor/surgeon who works for one of the government's top Shinobi teams! So don't you dare sell yourself short!" Tenma said as he grabbed Kaito's shoulders and looked him dead in the eye.
Leo had to say that her friends were quite the lucky girls to find such a wonderful man to love! She just wished she could have that relationship with her prince. "You girls truly are lucky! Unfortunately me and the girls have had no luck winning the heart of our prince!" Leo said sadly as her and the other girls looked down in sadness. "Oh have the Zodiac girls got a crush? Who is the lucky man?" Homura asked in a teasing tone as the Zodiac girls blushed in embarrassment. "His name is Kaito Amano. He is such a sweet little thing!" Leo said as she held her reddening cheeks. "You girls have a crush on Kaito?!!" Asuka said in shock as she looked at the Zodiac girls in disbelief.
"Y-Y-You girls know who Kaito is?!" Leo said in shock as she and her team looked at their friends in disbelief. "Yeah Kaito is the head medic of the Shinobi Warlords! He patched us up after our fight against Kyohari!" Yumi said as she smiled at the girls. "Wait what is Kaito's relationship with Tenma?" Ginrei asked as she and the other members leaned in to find out the answer. "Kaito and Tenma are childhood friends! They've known each other for years now!" Homura said as she gave a cheeky grin to the Zodiac girls. "Would you like to speak with Tenma in private?" Miyabi asked as she got multiple nods in response.
Tenma had just got done giving Kaito a pep talk when his phone went off. Miyabi sent him a text saying that the Zodiac girls wanted to talk to him in private, Tenma looked over at Kaito. "Kaito I got to rejoin the meeting you good on your own?" Tenma asked as he stood up. "Yeah I'm good now! Thanks for the pep talk Tenma!" Kaito said as he waved goodbye to his friend. Tenma made his way down the hall, eventually Tenma made his way into the meeting room. Once Tenma sat down he found that all eyes were on him; Tenma could feel the tension in the room increase.
"Tenma there are some questions we would like to ask you." Leo said in an eerily calm voice as all the girls turned towards him with a piercing gaze. "Yes of course! Ask away!" Tenma said in a slightly uncomfortable voice. "How do we win Kaito's heart?" Leo asked in a serious tone. "Excuse me you guys love Kaito?!!" Tenma said as he looked at the girls in disbelief. "Yes from the first day I laid my eyes on him I knew he would be my prince!" Leo said as she hugged herself. "I was worried for lady Leo's safety around such a man, but when I first saw him smile my heart melted!" Ginrei swooned as she held her cheeks.
"I never thought I would know the feeling of love, but after seeing Kaito I knew my love had been found!" Kurohoro said as she smiled. "He such a caring person! I couldn't help but fall for such a gentle hearted man!" Syuri said as she giggled happily. "I have spent my entire life trying to discover true magic, but when I laid eyes on Kaito I discovered the magic of love!" Aimu said as she blushed madly while smiling happily. Tenma couldn't believe it these girls had fallen so hard for Kaito, what is with Shinobi girls and obsessing over guys they liked?
Tenma took a minute to gather his thoughts before he gave the Zodiac girls an answer. "Okay the first thing you should know is that Kaito has severe low self esteem, he may be able to bandage wounds and preform surgery with the best of them, but he doesn't think very highly of himself." Tenma said as he looked at the girls for a response. "D-Does he hold a grudge?" Ginrei asked nervously as her teams turned to face her. "Ginrei what did you do?" Leo asked in a commanding tone. "I-I bumped into him this morning and I called him a dumbass!" Ginrei said in a high pitched nervous tone. The room was dead silent for what seemed like hours. "You did what?!!!!!" The girls shrieked in unison at Ginrei.
Tenma decided he better diffuse the situation before it gets worse. "To answer your question Ginrei Kaito does not hold a grudge in fact he probably thinks that whole ordeal is his fault!" Tenma said as he gently patted the girl on the back. "Now the most important thing you can do when trying to be around Kaito is to let him know he's appreciated! His parents didn't really give him that recognition so that's why he doesn't think highly of himself. So make him feel like he belongs okay?" Tenma said as the girls gave a nod in response. "Thank you Tenma! We will do our very best to make Kaito feel important!" Leo exclaimed as she and the rest of her team hugged Tenma. Before Tenma left he decided to give them one last bit of motivation. "By the way I asked Kaito what he thought of you girls! He said your guys were both beautiful and strong and that he would love to be friends with you!" Tenma said causing the girls to blush.
Tenma met up with his girlfriends as they made their way out of the school and started to head to one of the dorms on campus. "So the Tengu Squad, I thought they were on their own, what made them join Zodiac?" Tenma asked in curiously as they walked. "The Tengu girls ran into some financial troubles so the Leo offered them a place at the school! Although they still work to make money on weekends." Yumi said as they continued to walk to the dorm. Tenma couldn't help but wonder what kind of craziness this team of Shinobi will bring.
