Ayumi's P.O.V.

I was able to go back to Callie's home after I was released from the hospital. Investigations were launched immediately. I was in Callie's room, helping an officer look for something to help.

"Does she have a phone?" He asked.

"No. She told me it got taken away that day." I replied.

"Right, it came in the mail earlier. Well, where's your family, kid?" He questioned.

I stayed silent.

"Excuse me kid, but where is your family?" He shouted annoyingly.

I left the room to go to the living room to find Callie's parents. I overheard them talking.

"I came as soon as I could!" Callie's father shouted.

"She was taken three days ago!" Callie's mom shouted.

"I was on a business trip!"

"Yes, because work is so much fucking important than your daughter!"

"Don't you shout at me!"

"Where the fuck is James!"

"With the sitter!"

"Sir, Ma'am, you two need to calm down. Investigations are active." A police man said.

I walked out to the table and sat down. I held my head up with my hand and sighed. Callie's mom came up next to me and patted my back. I winced in pain. She sat next to me and looked in my eyes.

"Ayumi, maybe you should go home." She said.

"I can't." I replied.

"Why?"

"I don't have a home."

"What? Ayumi, why!"

"My family died in a car accident when we were moving. I was lucky to be spending the night at a friends house." I sobbed. "I lied to the police and said I was staying with my aunt."

"Why didn't you tell someone?" She asked furiously.

"I would be taken away and be in a foster home or something bad like that." I choked.

I stood up and walked out, leaving everyone speechless. I walked out to the roof and sat on the ledge. This is where Callie and I met. Flashbacks came in my mind. I cried at the thought.

"I hope the roof is salvageable." I said to myself.

I walked up to the roof and opened the door to see a girl holding a plank across the ledge to the other building. I gasped and hid behind the door. I thought to myself, please don't see me.

"Hello? You can come out." She sounded American with a slight British accent.

Dammit she saw me.

I walked out to her to see the long brown hair and blue eyes. She smiled an came closer to me. She grabbed my arm and pulled me to the edge. I shut my eyes tight, knowing my bad luck past, I wouldn't be surprised if she killed me.

I opened one eye an saw her sitting on the edge. I sat next to her and looked out on the city. The sun was setting and lights in windows turned on. The girl started to kick her feet. She turned to me.

"What's your name?" She asked.

"A-ayumi." I stuttered.

"Well, my name is Ca-" She was cut off by herself with screams. She was hanging on to the edge of the building.

"Help!" She shouted.

I grabbed her arms and tried to pull her up but me being the weak noodle I am, I fell backwards onto the concrete. My vision was blurry and fazed, but I could hear that girl.

Other shouts from people below burst in the air. I stood up, walking sideways from my head, and walked to the girl. I grabbed one of her arms. I pulled her up an she flung one of her feet up.

She climbed up the side of the building and shouted to all the people trying to make a 'safe spot' for her to land.

"I'm alright!" She shouted.

She looked to me and I could tell she was shaken up.

"I'm Callie. The clumsy chick who nearly fell off a building before you even knew her name." Callie stated. "Where do you live?"

"Uh, I live in the next building." I lied.

"Oh, cool! You want to meet my friends?" She asked.

"Sure." I said.

We walked across the board and went into another apartment.

"Hi." I said, shyly.

"Guys, meet Ayumi."
