" so ... who's the lucky guy? "
chapter three : business
It was a Thursday afternoon here in Riverview, an area that was miles away from Coppa County. People wore extravagant clothes, lived in the best houses, ate the best food, and owned the latest cars or even had the best technology in their possession. This is where Munirah Dols stayed. She was an upperclassmen, but she wasn't a rich snob who spent money on stupid shit like some of these folks did. She had a heart and a strong mind. And that's what made her different from everybody else, even her father.
Not like she chose to live this lifestyle, it was her father who brought them here. Her dad was the mayor of Upta and had a seat in the AMC, which was the country's Arra's Mayors Cabinet. Mayor Dols has been in office for about eight years now. He was first elected when she was only 16, and when they moved to Riverview everything had changed for them. It was a very rough time in Munirah's life but her dad didn't seem to care. She had left everything behind just to move to this city, and she didn't like it.
The justice system was unfair. Not only was this city segregated by the money that people made, but it was also prejudiced. She didn't like the fact that she lived in a separated city where the rich looked down at the poor. Back at her old city there were no laws that separated people by their social class. Ten years ago when the Equality Revolution—also known as the E-Rev—happened all the other cities had abolished their segregation laws except for the city of Upta that her own father is leading and representing. God, it really disgusted her.
Here in Upta the lower class citizens and the upperclassmen weren't allowed to associate unless under special circumstances. They weren't allowed to marry each other, have children, live underneath the same roof, and just many other stupid laws that kept them from mixing. After the E-Rev the city of Upta decided to lighten up on their rules and regulations, but this was still a segregated area that didn't allow the rich and the poor to be united. Munirah was stumped because she really was fond of Zayn, he's a cool guy and didn't care if he wasn't as fortunate when it came to money.
"I'll be in The Shack Saturday night around eleven. I'll bring some blunts with us. And don't have me waiting too long babe," Munirah ended the video message with a flirty look on her face before she sent it to Zayn. She watched the transparent screen on her cellphone as he opened the message. Biting her fingernail nervously she waited for him to reply. And when she finally got the notification that he had sent a video message back she opened it immediately.
His handsome face came upon the screen and she started to smile like an idiot, "Sounds good to me. I'll bring the lighter jus' in case you forget," he chuckled with his teeth showing a bit, sending her heart into overdrive. "Now, lemme get back to work before I get fired by drooling on this table by staring at your pretty face. I'll be sure to text you when I'm off. Bye Munirah," he sent a wave and then his face disappeared.
"He's so damn fine, jesus," Munirah uttered out with a content sigh leaving her lips. She turned off her phone and folded it before placing it on her floating nightstand that was near her bed.
Just a few moments later her door went flying open, scaring the shit out of her which made her jump a little bit. And here came her overtop, yet talented handsome bestfriend who went by the name of Harry Styles.
"Do you ever fuckin' knock?" Munirah hissed as she sat up on her bed and crossing her arms over her chest as she squinted her eyes at her friend.
"Don't curse at me. It's not nice," Harry pointed at her before closing the door. Soon walking over to his favorite chair that he liked to sit in when he was in here.
